It's a pleasure to be able to give a keynote presentation on the 12th Dec, for the 2024 Asia Pacific Economic and Finance (APEF) conference, thanks to the invitation of East Asia Research. It opened my eyes to learn about research and issues in this region. As much as ESG, environmental issues, climate changes finding their ways to link to the financial market, it felt truly inspired to learn about research that links "mortality rate and stock market fluctuation", bringing to attention important social issues not to get ignored. Congratulation to Krishna Murugappan for giving this excellent presentation. I am also very pleased to meet Evan Lau again, who is the chair of the conference. The conference also features a practitioner session with economist, Heron Lim Shi Shun 林师顺 , from Moody's Analytics, (subsidiary of Moody's, the rating agency), giving perspective/review on issues challenging the current economic situation. The APEF conference brings together both academic and industrial professional engagements, benefiting everyone who attend.
