Simpson, meanwhile, went on to have two children – daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace Knute, 16 months – with husband Eric Johnson. Although Lachey keeps things diplomatic while talking to McCarthy, he made it clear he’s not exactly planning any playdates with his ex. “I wouldn’t say it’s friends and I wouldn’t say it’s enemies,” said Lachey, who released a new solo album, Soundtrack of my Life, on Tuesday. “There’s just no contact. We’ve both moved on with our lives, and I think we are very happy it went the way it went. It’s not animosity, it’s not friendship – it’s just kind of nothing.” And just in case you were wondering, it sounds like the Lachey family doesn’t exactly support the Jessica Simpson brand. When McCarthy asks Lachey whether he hisses at Simpson when he sees her ads, he replied, “I do not. I don’t rush right down to Macy’s and buy a bunch of clothes or shoes, but I also don’t hiss at the TV.” Want more stories like this?
