Valentine's Day is not only the perfect time for lavish gifts, sweet treats or celebrating with your closest pals but for heartwarming proposals and weddings too. Celebrities have been inspired over the years to tie the knot on the special day, either in planned ceremonies or surprise nuptials. Here are 10 couples — some still together, others who have since gone their separate ways — that celebrated their wedding on Valentine's Day. 01 of 10 Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan Scott Dudelson/Getty Images Status: Still married Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan exchanged vows on Valentine's Day 2019, one year after they got engaged. "It's official!!! We're married!!!" the reality TV star and social media influencer posted on Instagram, sharing a photo of their dogs in wedding attire. Added the Mötley Crüe rocker in a similar post, "Holy s—balls!!!! We did it!!!! Mr & Mrs Lee." 02 of 10 Tyrese Gibson and Samantha Lee Paras Griffin/Getty Status: Divorced In a video posted on Instagram on Feb. 28, 2017, the Fast and Furious actor Tyrese Gibson revealed he secretly married Samantha Lee on Valentine's Day. Set to Brian Courtney Wilson's "I'll Just Say Yes," the montage included photos with his bride and a video of the couple walking on the beach during sunset. Though the pair announced plans to separate on Dec. 30, 2020, in late January 2021, Gibson vowed to win his wife back in the comments of an Instagram post. By 2023, the two had moved on, and Gibson introduced his girlfriend, Zelie Timothy, on a Valentine's Day episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show. 03 of 10 Liberty Ross and Jimmy Iovine Michael Kovac/Getty Images Status: Still married English model Liberty Ross and music mogul Jimmy Iovine exchanged "I dos" in front of A-list guests, including Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks and Lady Gaga on Feb. 14, 2016. In keeping with the theme, they asked guests to wear red (though the bride wore black). 04 of 10 Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter Jeff Vespa/Getty Images Status: Still married On Feb. 14, 2015, Oscar-nominated actor Benedict Cumberbatch and an expectant Sophie Hunter chose an intimate 12th-century medieval church in a small village on the Isle of Wight in England for their wedding ceremony. The couple has since welcomed three children — Christopher, Hal and Finn. 05 of 10 Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault Jennifer Graylock/JPI Status: Still married Salma Hayek's billionaire beau, François-Henri Pinault, whisked her away to the love capital of the world, Paris, for their low-key nuptials at City Hall in 2009 before throwing a star-studded blowout bash months later in Venice. It's clear that Valentine's Day holds a special place in their hearts: Their daughter is named Valentina! 06 of 10 Keri Russell and Shane Deary Carolyn Kaster/AP Photo Status: Divorced It looked like Felicity had finally found love when Keri Russell married longtime boyfriend Shane Deary in a small ceremony on Valentine's Day 2007 while she was expecting their first child. However, after nearly seven years and two kids together, the couple announced on Dec. 5, 2013, that they had been separated since that summer. 07 of 10 Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid Getty Images Status: Divorced When America's Sweetheart married the Hollywood heartthrob (and her two-time costar) in 1991, it seemed like a match made in big-screen heaven. So the world was shocked when — after nine years of marriage and one child — Meg Ryan left Dennis Quaid for her Proof of Life (2000) costar Russell Crowe. The once-golden couple finalized their divorce in 2001. 08 of 10 Adriana Lima and Marko Jaric Axelle/Bauer-Griffin Status: Divorced Just like Hayek, Adriana Lima wed on Valentine's Day in 2009 to Serbian basketball player Marko Jaric in Jackson Hole, Wyo. — and named her daughter Valentina, too. However, their fate was not the same: The former couple announced their separation in May 2014 and officially divorced in 2016. 09 of 10 Sharon Stone and Phil Bronstein Getty Images Status: Divorced Guests thought they were attending a lavish Valentine's Day bash at Sharon Stone's Benedict Canyon mansion in 1998 — only to find out they were actually at her wedding to Phil Bronstein, then executive editor of the San Francisco Examiner. After six years of marriage and the adoption of one son, the couple divorced in 2004. 10 of 10 Prince and Mayte Garcia Prince and Mayte Garcia in Paris France on July 15, 1999. William STEVENS/Gamma-Rapho/Getty Status: Divorced Six years after first meeting Prince at a concert in Spain, dancer Mayte Garcia and the late singer wed on Valentine's Day 1996 in his hometown of Minneapolis. Later that year, Garcia gave birth to the couple's son, Boy Gregory. Sadly, Their son, unfortunately, was born with a rare genetic disorder called Pfeiffer syndrome and only lived a week after his birth. Soon after, Garcia became pregnant and had a miscarriage. "I believe a child dying between a couple either makes you stronger, or it doesn't," Garcia later told Mirror in 2016. For me, it was very, very hard to move forward, and for us as a couple I think it probably broke us." With the deaths of their children taking a toll on their marriage, the couple divorced in 2000. When Prince died at his Paisley Park home in 2016, Garcia told PEOPLE, "This man was my everything, we had a family. I am beyond deeply saddened and devastated." Garcia expressed that she "loved him then" and "will love him eternally" before adding, "He's with our son now." Close
