In the midst of an impromptu speech about sports, Adele, 35, joked that she's "not the greatest wife" to the sports agent, as it's taken some work for her to get into American football, given its lack of presence in her native England. I actually love watching sports," she told the crowd, according to fan-filmed footage, explaining that football in the U.K. is referred to as soccer in the United States. "I just don't understand the game, and it's so annoying because I'm actually quite a clever person," continued Adele. "Why does the whistle always get blown? Why is it four yards? Why are there inches? Why does it stop when it gets f---ing exciting?" She added that she gets "nervous" about the players' safety during the games before making the comment about being "not the greatest wife, really, when it comes to football — even though my partner absolutely loves it."
