The “Easy on Me” singer, 36, got emotional after seeing Céline Dion in the audience at her Las Vegas residency show on Saturday, Oct. 26. In a video posted by a fan account on X (formerly Twitter), Adele was singing her song "When We Were Young" when she approached Dion, 56, who was seated in a box to the side at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Adele became tearful as the pair embraced for a several seconds, before saying a few words to Dion while the Canadian singer held Adele’s face in her hands. Dion then held and kissed Adele’s hand as the British singer waved at those sitting nearby. She then said a few more words to Dion before walking away to continue her performance. In the clip, Dion also appeared extremely emotional as she embraced and talked to her fellow singing icon. Yet another clip showed Dion sitting back down after her sweet moment with Adele and dabbing her own eyes. The "My Heart Will Go on" singer appeared to have been joined by her two of her sons, Nelson and Eddy Angélil, 14, as both boys comforted their mother after her emotional encounter. One clip posted on X also showed Adele walking away from Dion and continuing to sing the track as she dabbed her tearstained face. In January 2018, Adele visited Dion backstage after she performed at the Colosseum during the “Power of Love” singer’s second Vegas residency. In a post shared on Instagram at the time, Dion wrote after meeting Adele at her show, “Wasn’t able to do all my shows, but was thrilled that Adele came to one of them… I love her so much!!” Superfan Adele also wrote on Instagram of the experience, “Queen Celine! What a show, an absolute highlight of my life, thank you so much for the attention to your crowd and insane humor. The British singer has long been a huge fan of Dion, and also revealed in a 73 Questions video for Vogue in 2021 that her "proudest possession," is a framed piece of Dion's gum. ""It's pretty amazing," the singer told the outlet in the clip. "James Corden — who's a friend of mine but also does Carpool Karaoke, which I did — did one with her. He knew how much of a fan I was of her and he made her spit her gum into a piece of paper and she framed it for me." Adele is set to bring her two-year Vegas residency to a close in November. While performing in concert in Munich in September, the 16-time Grammy winner shared that she plans to step away from music for a “long time” once her residency comes to an end. In a video posted on TikTok Adele told fans onstage, "I have 10 shows to do, but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart."
