  • Tag your friends who love to give and remind them to verify before donating! The holidays are a time for giving, and scammers know it. They’ll create fake charities or tug at your heartstrings with emotional appeals to steal your money. Always verify before you donate. Research the organization or use trusted platforms to give directly. A little caution goes a long way! #CSF12DaysofChristmas2024 #CharityScams #GiveSafely

  • Know someone job-hunting this season? Send them this post and help them avoid getting scammed! Holiday job postings are everywhere, but not all of them are real. Scammers create fake listings to trick people into paying “application fees” or sharing personal details. If a job feels too easy or too good to be true, it probably is. Legitimate employers never charge you to apply. Research the company before you apply! #CSF12DaysofChristmas2024 #JobScams #Cybersecurity

  • "My name is Bronch Mukami, from the Incident Response path, and this is my success story. My journey into cybersecurity began unexpectedly when a friend invited me to a cybersecurity hackathon. At the time, I felt out of place because my career was aligning more toward Data Analysis and Al. After much encouragement, I decided to attend, and to my surprise, my team emerged as the winners. This win ignited a spark in me, and soon after, a lecturer referred me to another competition where this time, it was an individual-based challenge. At this event, I met a CyberGirl who spoke passionately about the CyberGirls Fellowship. Her knowledge and skills, reflected in her performance, were inspiring. I also met instructors who later became my mentors, encouraging me to pursue cybersecurity by providing valuable resources. When the CyberGirls 4.0 applications opened, I was initially hesitant. However, with some persuasion from a relative, I applied, got selected, and the rest is history... The CyberGirls Fellowship wasn't without challenges. One of the most significant hurdles I faced was time management. Balancing group projects with my Cyber Sisters in different time zones, completing allocated courses, preparing for assessments and exams, and attending live sessions all felt overwhelming. However, I overcame these challenges by creating a structured schedule, dedicating late nights and weekends to study, and relying on the support of my Cyber Sisters, who simplified complex concepts for me. The fellowship equipped me with invaluable skills that prepared me for my current role as a Cybersecurity Intern at M-Pesa Africa under the Cyber Defence team. My training in Networking, Active Directory, Linux, SIEM, and Digital Forensics has been instrumental in my day-to-day responsibilities, such as configuring and monitoring SIEM, generating reports, utilizing Linux for daily operations, managing time effectively, and collaborating with colleagues across different time zones. I am deeply grateful to the CyberSafe Foundation and its partners: Microsoft, ISC2, Cisco, Infosec, and Fortinet for providing this transformative opportunity. This journey has shaped not just my career, but also my confidence and outlook on the endless possibilities in the field of cybersecurity." Donate to join us in building a safer, more inclusive future. Here's how you can help: •Make a $200 one-off donation to sponsor a CyberGirl through our 8-month training. •Alternatively, you can also set up a recurring payment of $50 per month for 4 months. No matter the amount, your donation through the CyberSafe Foundation is tax-deductible for those in the United States. Visit link in bio to donate.

  • Tag your family and agree on a “safe word” now! It’s a small step that could make a big difference! This one’s sneaky and hits you where it hurts. Scammers use AI to mimic the voices of loved ones, calling with fake emergencies to get you to send money fast. It’s all about emotional manipulation. If you get a suspicious call, pause, breathe, and verify. A quick callback to the actual person could save you from heartbreak and fraud. #CSF12DaysofChristmas2024 #AIScams #StayAlert
