Here are some takeaways: • I was at the InfraGard National Leadership Meeting in FL last week. • InfraGard, a partnership between the FBI and the private sector, helps protect the U.S. critical infrastructure and American people. •Peoria has had its own chapter for almost 3 years, operating under InfraGard Springfield. –Our members include subject matter experts from Caterpillar, Bradley, hospitals, banks, local law enforcement and governments, the military, utility companies, Illinois STIC (Statewide Terrorism and Intelligence Center), and many others. • InfraGard’s national leadership voted unanimously to promote Peoria to IMA (InfraGard Members Alliance) status, the highest level for InfraGard. –It gives Peoria recognition & voting rights at the national level. –We are now the same level as Chicago, NY, LA, etc. • FBI Director Christopher Wray flew in to address us and discuss how important InfraGard is to protecting our nation. –InfraGard members work with FBI agents to help protect our country from terrorist threats. • We will talk more about InfraGard at this year’s Central Illinois Cyber event; those who qualify will be able to apply for membership. –Potential members must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, employed in one of the 16 sectors of critical infrastructure, and go through an FBI vetting process. • Central Illinois Cyber is October 16, free and open to the public. –Speakers include the FBI, CISA, and private industry experts who will provide updates on the current cybersecurity landscape. –You do not need to be a cyber expert to attend. • To find out more and register, go to pearltechnology.com/cic. #InfraGard #CIC #CyberNews #GregandDanShow #PearlTechnolog

Just got my badge for passing Zero-Point Security Ltd's Certified Red Team Operator (CRTO) certification. A bit of background about the CRTO: Holders of the Red Team Operator badge have demonstrated their knowledge of adversary simulation, command & control, engagement planning and time management. They can perform each stage of an attack lifecycle from initial compromise, to full domain takeover, data hunting, and exfiltration; whilst being aware of OPSEC concerns and bypassing defences.
