Two months ago I presented my Master’s project, "Development of a Web-Based User Access Control Chatbot for SMEs Conducting Cyber Essentials Self-Assessment!" I developed a web-based User Access Control chatbot to assist SMEs in conducting Cyber Essentials Self-Assessments. This new solution is designed to simplify the self-assessment process and improve cybersecurity practices for businesses of any size. The chatbot can answer FAQs on Cyber Essentials User Access Control. This journey has been an incredible learning experience, I explored the intersection of cybersecurity, user access management, software development, and SME compliance. I express my sincere gratitude to my supervisor Dr. Deepthi Ratnayake for her support and guidance. I am truly grateful for her encouragement. To everyone who contributed to this achievement, thank you. I look forward to applying these insights to real-world applications and continuing to grow in the cybersecurity and tech domains. I have been awarded a Degree of Master of Science (Cyber Security) with a Distinction from the University of Hertfordshire. Thank you, Dr Iretioluwa Akerele, Grace Emmanuel, Aliyu G. Day 30/31: How is phishing harmful to individual and organization? Just one wrong click can have serious consequences, even bringing a whole organization to a halt. For instance, Twitter’s 2020 hack, where high-profile accounts were taken over, began with a simple phishing attack targeting employees. This caused huge reputational damage, global security concerns, and took significant resources to resolve. For individuals, phishing can lead to stolen personal information, financial loss, and privacy issues that can take months—or even years—to fix. For organizations, phishing doesn’t just drain finances; it can destroy customer trust, harm brand reputation, and disrupt productivity, employees are pulled away from their main tasks to deal with security issues. In severe cases, phishing can expose sensitive data or cause compliance issues, adding to the overall damage. In today’s world, taking every suspicious link seriously is not a necessity it is IMPORTANT, one small click can have ripple effects that last a long time.
