A 31-year-old trainee doctor, dedicated to her duty at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, was brutally mutilated, violated, gang-raped, and murdered while on duty. The four-page postmortem report of the trainee doctor revealed that she was throttled to death. Her thyroid cartilage was broken due to strangulation, and injuries were found on her belly, lips, fingers, and left leg. The report also mentioned that the woman was bleeding from both eyes, mouth, and private parts. The wounds in her private parts were caused by "perverted sexuality" and "genital torture." From the experiences of educators and the recent case in Jammu and Kashmir, several important lessons emerge. Firstly they (contractual teachers) must also not give up. Life every day is a test and we should be prepared with positivity. For teachers, maintaining resilience and adaptability is crucial. The ability to navigate adversity and explore alternative career paths, as demonstrated by the said PhD scholar, can offer new opportunities and inspire others. They must not hesitate or feel low in esteem to start small ventures. They can use experiences to turn small into big ventures and be inspirational for others as well. There is nothing great like being a job creator than a job seeker. Moreover, teachers in Jammu and Kashmir should not be just confined to the Union Territory for their livelihood. There are immense opportunities and there is a big world to explore outside the Jammu and Kashmir. Even one must not hesitate to explore options outside the country. But it takes efforts and positivity and those who put in best efforts become successful.

Dear friends and contemporaries, Children learn sub consciously from parents , both the good & the bad,which they believe is how they need to respond to life circumstances,thus parenting plays a major role in life of generation next.Parents play an indispensable role in children’s maturing to pragmatic diversities in challenges served by world at large. Subconscious learning by a child is the basic , the learning endorsed by observation & consolidated by reward & punishment, which certainly serves as strong roots for years to come.The father & mother preferences in terms of personal selection & facilitation often transforms to habit of the child.The discrimination imparted by parents among siblings often remain as the basic cause of conflict and competitive existence for times ahead.The judicious encouragement served by parents is the spine for a long term personality display by the children who received it. The parents’ mutual understanding & demeanour becomes the bench mark & often the example to be followed if healthy or example of their deep frustration in case unhealthy . My research & the following thesis confirmed that parental & social factors are the main architects that engineer the personality of the child . Unfortunately we have detailed process to educate the young blood but no policies to confirm the disciplined demeanour of parents who serve as the basic factors of influence . Parenting needs to be responsibly administered as a social responsibility confirmed by the law of the land.The restrictions in excess is not enough,the requirement to daily monitor & administer is but essential,as a transparent process is the need of the hour.Often people prefer hideousness in the name of privacy which needs to be curtailed.The modern times demands healthy & transparent laws that promotes a healthy existence.The children need necessary emotional support at right junctures to evolve to a mature & healthy disposition which can be ensured by proper conduct by both.The idiosyncrasies of any of the parent can be detrimental if not checked timely.Often the scrupulous & narcissistic among the two,tends to change colours abruptly to create confusion & instability as a source of inherent fear in their child.The undefined role or role confusion created by conflicts or competitive practice is another big factor that serves ambiguity in child’s mind. Parenting is indeed a responsibility that needs to be well discharged,to serve as a blessing to children.It is not only a social responsibility but also a national responsibility & can be recognised as a global responsibility as well . If the parenting is healthy - the industriousness is natural to follow, the wise approach to handle circumstances in a healthy fashion,minus any excess is confirmed.The healthy parenting never breeds war mongers nor surrendering escapist from circumstances . “Women are bearing the burden of the ‘Bro-Club’ on the pathway of leadership” This is what I remember from the insightful panel led by Aparajita Bharti at the EquiLead Conference: Building Pathways towards Women’s Leadership held over the last two days in Delhi! Yamini Atmavilas, Poonam Muttreja, and Priyanka Gupta led the discussion on Women in CXO positions and Boards in the impact Sector. 💡”The Social Impact Space, typically considered to be the ‘women’s arena’ with a workforce participation of over 50% has a representation of less than 30% in management positions and almost half of that in Boardrooms." - Poonam Muttreja hilariously spoke about the realities of boardrooms, and women leaders. The one led by Meghana Rao from Equilead spoke to eminent women like Dr Seema Bhatia - Panthaki, Aakanksha Gulati, and Archna Vyas about the Gender Lens Investing Principles: Dr Seema, Dir, Gender Equality Platform, AVPN, spoke about something I relate with- 💡”How can we have a gender lens in the investing space if the funds from philanthropies do not go to women founders, who work with women communities directly?”  Aakanksha from ACT said something powerful that's happened with me before- ⚡️”It’s been found that women founders are a lot less aggressive in their fundraising, and tend to put forth mistakes first in front of funders, as compared to male founders.” ⚡️”Women have to do the hard work of reimaging the reality of what the new world would look like, and then work on it” I’m so grateful to have heard from a room full of, led by, hosted by, and thought of by some of the most powerful women in leadership positions, or on their pathway to leadership. “Honestly, guys, we know everything we discuss- policies, and programs, but it makes 0 sense if we don’t execute it- or more men don’t show up to talk about this” -biggest takeaway from the last two days. I spent 2 hours this morning reading about the "MapmyIndia" Corporate Governance issue that started from 29th November. On 1st December the company announced that the company's CEO &ED Rohan Verma (The man behind the success of MMI) to float a B2C venture and will relinquish his role. The company also would fund Rs.35 crs as CCD in addition to take 10% stake at par value. The new venture will be using MMI's retail brand Mappls and his new venture will share data with MMI. Poor logic and PR. I sold my shares 3 days later as investors were negative about this decision and by this time the stock was down by over 12%, which was below the listing price on 21st Dec 21. Yesterday, 9th December the company's board met and decided to reverse their decision that was made on 29th November keeping in mind the best interest of the company. There is no mention about whether Rohan will stay or leave to form a B2C venture without MMI support. Totally confusing. Out of 10 Board members, 6 are Independent Directors (very accomplished people) The case became interesting when the company had an investor call on 3rd Dec where few investors asked very pertinent questions on the deal which is normally very rare. I tried to download the 3rd Dec filing with BSE which was deleted and the transcript was uploaded only yesterday 9th Dec. Very funny indeed. You can read from BSE site. Reading thru this transcript, the main issue comes from related party transactions (not necessarily from the legal limit perspective) and why the son would take away the brand without paying royalty only to be answered that B2C data would be shared. Honestly, the management was trying to educate the investors but failed miserably due to their lack of preparation and some arrogance . So much so, one analyst said "You are implementing governance standards in letter. And I hope it also gets implemented in spirit". While I am not getting into the logic behind the original board's decision (I am sure a lot of wisdom must have prevailed), I am surprised with the decision of reversal which raises the question whether the promoters bullied the IDs to accept their proposal and once there was a backlash, the IDs have called the shot. Whatever it is, retail investors lost as the prices fell down creating a panic and the stock bounced back yesterday in a knee jerk reaction and down today. And we are still bullish on premiumisation rather than mass market. On the capex side, the focus of the government is on road, water, defence.
