The inaugural edition of Shiprocket Shivir in 2023 was a momentous occasion. With zero prior experience in-house of organising a physical event of this scale, there was obvious anxiety whether we will be successful in our pursuit to create an Industry leading initiative. I remember multiple discussions with Saahil,our CEO, where he continuosly expressed concern if the event would see an empty hall and I constantly kept saying just one thing - don't worry, all is well. It was a conviction based on my prior experiences having organised multiple such events as well as a strong belief in the power of what we were trying to build - India's largest conclave designed for SMBs looking to learn and grow their businesses. What happened on D-day was something beyond our wildest dreams. Against a planned attendance of 700-800, 1600+ attendees thronged the event. The team on ground handled the increased traffic with extreme poise and ensured the event became a truly memorable physical debut for Shiprocket Shivir. The participants went back delighted with high words of praise including from CEOs of large media houses who organise such events regularly. 1 year later, Shiprocket Shivir is back - bigger and better(with all the learnings from last year incorporated too). We have already crossed the count of paid registrations, speakers, event partners, goodie bag partners etc compared to last year and we have 1 week to go with multiple enquiries still pouring in. ‘With growing consumption and gross domestic product (GDP) growth in India, the advertising market is projected to grow at a 9.4% CAGR from INR 1,01,000 crore in 2023 to INR 1,58,000 crore in 2028, which is 1.4x the global average. Most of this growth will come from digital front (internet advertising), which is expected to grow at a 15.6% CAGR, rising from INR 41,000 crore in 2023 to INR 85,000 crore in 2028. Internet advertising’s year-on-year growth, which was 26.0% in 2023, will remain in double digits throughout the forecast period (2024–28), and is expected to be 12.2% in 2028. Traditional TV advertising will grow at a 4.2% CAGR between 2023 to 2028, while global revenues are set to drop by -1.6%. India is poised to become the fourth-largest TV advertising market by 2026.’

'GenAI is easier to say in the boardroom and difficult to get right for many SaaS companies'. When speaking to multiple technology providers, we have observed this as well. I will go further to suggest that many existing players will find it difficult to move to agentic workflows meaningfully. Beyond document summarization, and basic AI uses. The real problem is not technology. It is the company's DNA and processes, and a large installed base of customers. Going from building deterministic systems to building non-deterministic systems with high accuracy is a different skill set and hard to pivot to quickly. #aiagents #genai

For years, the industry has leaned on viewability as a key performance indicator. Viewability means- 50% of your ad is visible for at least 1 sec. While this has become a standard benchmark, and a good one at that, it doesn't clearly answer a big question-- was the audience attentive to your Banner/ Video?? 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵: an ad can meet the viewability criteria and still be completely ignored by viewers. Distracted users, low attention span, ad clutter, there are multiple reasons why an ad that stays on screen for a second but is scrolled past immediately, or is barely glanced at. So, even if your campaign reports millions of views, it’s fair to ask: How many people actually notice and engage? While metrics like clickthrough rate and viewability have their place, they don’t paint the full picture. Q&A Section on Google Business Profiles removed in India Until a while back, any customer could ask a question specific to that business location and get them clarified. As an example, a leading pan India Diagnostic Chain customer of ours used Zceppa to centrally respond to all questions - cost of a CT Scan, home collection etc. They found it super useful and also a very meaningful way to engage with their customers. Alas, due to some policy violation and without any notification, this feature has been abruptly removed in India (not sure about other countries).
