JUST A DAY IN NOVEMBER 11/11/2024: Many of our colleagues are presently visiting our customers worldwide. This is just a snapshot of a very typical business day for HEDRICH as a globally operating company.

As part of the HEDRICH GmbH Group, VOGEL moulds and machines AG has continuously developed its product portfolio for the APG process in recent years. The process, which is also known as low-pressure casting, is used, for example, in the manufacture of instrument transformers and medium and high-voltage parts in the electrical industry. Furthermore, the field of application for this efficient process is constantly expanding. When using the APG process, the component to be cast or the negative mold is filled with epoxy resin. The chemical cross-linking of the casting compound then begins under the application of heat - this is known as “gelling”. The material shrinkage that occurs during this process is compensated by a continuous dynamic pressure on the casting material to ensure an optimum filling level of the mold. A further increase in quality can be achieved if not only the casting resin is prepared under vacuum, but the mold is also filled under vacuum. For this purpose, either the casting mold itself can be designed to be vacuum-tight or a conventional casting mold can be installed inside a vacuum chamber on the clamping machine (see photo). The advantages of the so-called VPG process (Vacuum Pressure Gelation) include absolutely void-free components, even with very complex shapes. And compared to the conventional APG process, the dielectric properties of the manufactured products are even better. #APG #VPG #vacuumcasting

Some time ago, we reported on the establishment of our HEDRICH North America subsidiary and its General Manager Leon White. We are pleased that our American representative has already been fully integrated into our business and is very active in the acquisition of new local service partners in addition to his sales activities and market analyses. As the central point of contact for our customers in North America, Leon White has extensive experience in the electrical industry and understands the needs of our customers. Leon is establishing a comprehensive network for local services. This is intended to ensure fast and efficient processing of HEDRICH’s business in the USA.   We will continue to report on news from this side.

New loading record! At the end of last week, a new record was set on our company premises in terms of heavyweight transportation: A VOGEL moulds and machines AG clamping machine with a total weight of over 30 tons was loaded onto a heavy-duty transporter and delivered to the customer. This colossus is used in the production of large composite hollowcore insulators with LSR shielding.  An appropriate crane system for handling these components will then be installed at the customer's site on the clamping machine. We say “Safe journey heavyweight”!
