On Monday, 1 July 2024, three changes to the Danish Competition Act will enter into force: 1) A provision allowing the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority to require notification of specific mergers even if they do not meet the usual turnover thresholds (known as the “call-in option”). 2) A market investigation tool that permits the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority to examine market structures or behaviors that may weaken competition, and grants the authority the power to issue behavioral remedies to address the identified problems. 3) A revision of the principles for imposing civil fines on businesses, bringing them in line with EU standards. In this article (in Danish), Head of Unit Katrine Lapp explains what the changes will mean for businesses and the authority.

Yesterday, I had a chat with Peter from London. He’s new to China sourcing and was finding it tough to deal with suppliers. The language barrier, unfamiliar business practices, and just figuring out who to trust were all challenges for him. I told him about Victure Group and how we’ve helped many first-timers like him. This statistic captured my attention. ONLY 10% of companies have operationalized their values into behaviors and actions. Wow! What does this tell me? That companies are operating at a minimum. However, how exciting that there is so much untapped potential! Companies who live their brand to the core achieve long-term success because they create strong value-driven relationships which leads to consistency, trust, and loyalty.
