As the year draws to a close, the Greenwin team gathered to celebrate a remarkable 2024 at our annual holiday party, hosted at Dragon Pearl. The event was a reminder of the strong sense of community that defines our organization. The festivities included a delicious lunch, during which Kevin Green, our President and CEO, shared heartfelt words reflecting on the accomplishments and milestones we’ve achieved together. This year has been one of significant growth and development, as we continue our mission of creating inclusive housing opportunities and building thriving communities. Adding to the festive atmosphere, team members donned their most eye-catching holiday sweaters for our annual Ugly Sweater Contest. One lucky winner took home a pair of Raptors tickets! This holiday season, we’re filled with gratitude for the incredible residents, team members, and partners who make Greenwin home. It's Giving Season! Greenwin Cares teamed up with Toronto Community Housing, Durante's No Frills, and Toronto Police Service 31 Division Neighbourhood Community Officers to spread some holiday warmth across the Jane and Finch community. Together, we were able to distribute turkeys, chickens, hams, and potatoes, ensuring families can celebrate with love, joy, and a full table.   A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered their time, your generosity is making a real difference! We are proud to share that Greenwin has officially broken ground on our latest project at 50 Wilson Heights Blvd., marking a significant step forward in addressing Toronto’s critical housing needs. In collaboration with the City of Toronto, CreateTO, KingSett Capital, and Tridel this transit-oriented development will deliver 1,484 residential units, including: 520 affordable rental homes 520 market rental homes 444 market condominiums   This community will also feature a childcare centre, space for non-profit organizations, retail and commercial areas, a new park, and public realm enhancements. Sustainability is a cornerstone of this project, with the integration of geothermal energy to reduce the environmental footprint.   As part of HousingNowTO, this site repurposes City-owned land for mixed-income, mixed-use developments near transit.
