📣 Congratulations to Lendlease, Mirvac and Stockland who have been shortlisted in the procurement of a development partner to deliver the urban renewal of the existing Sydney Fish Market site at Blackwattle Bay. This 3.6-hectare landmark site will deliver housing, commercial spaces, retail and cultural experiences to create a vibrant, sustainable and thriving community. Over half of the precinct will be open and accessible to the public, including a foreshore promenade which will be the final piece of a 15km continuous harbourside walk connecting Woolloomooloo to Rozelle Bay. This marks an exciting step forward for the site, which is part of the broader urban renewal of Blackwattle Bay and bookended by the new Sydney Fish Market 🐟 and 1.1-hectare harbourfront park at Bank Street 🌳. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gc-EYFRx #BlackwattleBay #UrbanRenewal #MixedUsePrecinct NSW Government

Infrastructure NSW, in partnership with Roads Australia and Aurecon, were delighted to hold an interactive workshop for Roads Australia members on decarbonising infrastructure delivery yesterday. Our team provided an update on the implementation program for the Decarbonising Infrastructure Delivery Policy, findings from our recent capability survey, and discussed the toolkit of resources to assist industry in applying the policy on projects. The session included an interactive workshop where participants were able to test how the policy will work in a hypothetical project setting. The session’s insights will feed into the toolkit of resources and the forward work program for the team. Many thanks to Roads Australia, Aurecon and all attendees for their ongoing support and partnership. https://lnkd.in/gaxtCHYx #decarbonisation #sustainability #INSW #RA #Aurecon

Did you know Barangaroo's ambitious sustainability goals are more than surface level – they even extend beneath the water? At low tide, head to Watermans Cove to catch glimpses of our underwater garden. Installed in 2020, the Living Seawalls panels encourage native biodiversity to the area, create marine habitats that provide protection from heat and predators, and enhance the ecosystem overall. This marine marvel is: 🧩 the largest Living Seawalls installation in the world and comprises almost 400 habitat panels 🐚 an innovative design with 3D printed panels that incorporate natural materials such as crushed sandstone and oyster shells, to mimic oyster reefs, sponges and rock pools 🍃 regularly gardened to remove invasive species, which helps native species of invertebrates and kelp flourish 🤿 monitored twice a year to examine the growth of marine biodiversity such as seaweed and fish species. The most recent ecological survey results showed oysters were the most abundant species. Oysters are filter feeding organisms efficient at cleaning surrounding waters. Their increased abundance will contribute to cleaner water at Watermans Cove. 🤝 the program is a partnership between Lendlease, Infrastructure NSW and the Living Seawalls project at the Sydney Institute of Marine Science led by researchers from Macquarie University and University of New South Wales.
