The University implements a strategy of valorisation and transfer of research results towards the society. In this framework, the ULB-KTO supports researchers in human and social sciences and cross-disciplinary fields in the valorisation of their research results, in particular by giving visibility to the societal innovation tools and services developed within the University. Alongside other initiatives for societal valorisation, these tools and services are made available to ensure their transfer to socio-economic actors (public institutions, non-profit associations, companies in the commercial and non-commercial sectors, spin-offs, the general public, etc.).

This page provides a non-exhaustive list of tools and services emerged from the research results of the ULB and will regularly updated with additional tools and services. The conditions of use vary from case to case and are detailed under each item.

See below the available tools and services for societal innovation :

SpecXcraft: how to train the capacity to collectively imagine the future (of Brussels)?

Description : The publication from the SpecXcraft project (Speculative crafting for un/common futures) gives an overview of some of the narratives crafted by associations working for different causes in Brussels, while also outlining some of the project's theoretical foundations and offering a first analysis of its results. It offers a source of inspiration to enable both researchers and civic actors in Brussels to break out of the mainstream imaginary centred on the free market, growth and technosolutionism, and to imagine different futures and take more situated and collective paths.

The research was carried out by Centre vidéo de Bruxelles, Constant, LUCA School of Arts, Natagora and ULB (La Cambre-Horta Faculty of Architecture: LoUIsE research laboratory).
