    INTRODUCTION
    BACKGROUND OF BAHIR DAR PP BAG

    FACTORY
    Bahir dar pp. bag factory is a new venture in
    Amhara region established by fully private owned,
    Mr. Bayih Mekonnen. It costs about 150milion birrs
    to establish it
    The company is located 6 kilometers from the center
    of bahir dar, which is the former capital city of
    Amhara region; on the western end of the city on
    kebele 14 special names Meshenty

    The factory has one transformer which rates

    630KVA apparent power that feeds five main CB


    namely; for loom machine, CB for tape plant , CB for
    singers, and CB for recycling machine with a
    maximum voltage of 400volts.
    Objectives of the company
    To solve the shortage of bags for textile products in
    the country
    To bring socio-economic changes in the region in
    particular, for the country in general
    To increase foreign exchange earnings
    To create employment opportunity

    Machineries and their operational principles


    Tape plant
    Tamp plant is a huge machine that has different

    parts having different working principles. Those main


    parts of this plant are
    Suction (raw material input) zone
    Melting zone
    Orientation zone
    Oven dry region and
    Final winding zone

    This plant has different motors on its processing zones,
    it has waste particles collection mechanism by using
    pneumatic system, it uses pneumatic system to suck raw
    materials from the raw material box, then melts at about
    300-350 degree centigrade
    This melted matter goes to orientation zone of having
    three rollers, thus rollers transfers it in to oven dry zone
    having heat to remove cleaning water from the surface
    of the oriented tape yarn, thus tape yarn pass on five
    rollers having three of them freezing air and the rest
    two having heat and both of this gives the tape yarn
    enough dryness, then finally this dried tape yarn go to

    winding zone manually

    Circular waving machine
    This machine is done 42 up to 72 diameters

    ring adjustments to satisfy customer wants

    This circular weaving loom has three motors, six
    shuttle boxes, electrical sensors, and creel zones.
    The three motors are:
    1. Main motor: used to give power to the circular
    loom to rotate and produce fabric.
    2. Reverse Winding motor: used to wind the
    produced fabric in both directions as required.
    3. Hall off motor: used to transfer the produced
    fabric in to winding zone.

    These bag cutting machines are manually operating

    machines having auto transformer of 24 volts


    Since the machine is manual the efficiency is depend
    on operator efficiency
    The transformer has an input voltage of 220 volts
    The machine is electrical resistance wire system
    These electrical machines are used to sew bags . The
    factory has 13 singers which have the same electrical
    ratings listed as follows

    A voltage of 230 volts AC


    A speed of 2850/3450 RPM
    A frequency 0f 50/60
    A current of 2.0/1.5Amper
    A power of 0.4KW
    2 poles single phase
    The efficiency of these machines is depend upon the

    operators
    Since the machine is single phase induction it has 40
    micro farads in order to start

    Printer machine
    It uses star delta starter

    Packing machines
    This machine is used to pack the bag by using

    packing sacks which the process of the company


    ends
    It is direct on line starting. The packing machine
    efficiency depends on operator efficiency
    Recycling machine
    Recycling process is used to recycle waste materials
    of tape plant , loom and end product. This recycling
    process has the following parts

    Creature that is used to cut wastes in to small pieces

    that can be raw materials of eaglo machine.


    Eaglo machine is recycling machine that heats small
    pieces of creature.
    Recycling machine uses heated small pieces of eaglo
    machine as raw materials and ends recycling
    process of the company. This machine has different
    parts.

    CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION


    CONCLUSION
    Based on my observation I found that Bayih

    Mekonnen Pp bag factory have an unlimited


    advantages both for the country and for the
    foreign countries
    But the factory has many problems like lack of
    senior operators, unqualified management

    Recommendation
    The production and maintenance workers should work

    synchronized
    They should represented/assign qualified, experienced
    and skill full production and maintenance man power
    to solve the problem immediately
    Cutter modification by reduces smokes of resistor
    wire
    The company gives appreciation (rewards) for the best
    employers for better production
