1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. EFFECTIVITY
 All A119 helicopters that have not yet done the disassemble and the assemble of
the Swashplate Assy according to AMP DM 19-A-62-31-04-00A-530A-A and
DM 19-A-62-31-04-00A-710A-A while performing AMPI task 62-00.5 or any
maintenance operation.
 All AW119MKII helicopters from S/N 14701 to S/N 15026, from S/N 15032 to
S/N 15035, from S/N 15521 to S/N 15808, S/N 15813, from S/N 15815 to
S/N 15909, that have not yet done the disassemble and the assemble of the
Swashplate Assy according to AMP DM 19-A-62-31-04-00A-530A-A and
DM 19-A-62-31-04-00A-710A-A while performing AMPI task 62-00.5 or any
maintenance operation.

B. COMPLIANCE
Within 100 FH or 12 months, whichever occurs first.

C. CONCURRENT REQUIREMENTS

D. REASON
Leonardo Helicopters has issued this Service Bulletin following an occurrence reporting
an improper installation of the swashplate duplex bearing P/N 109-0110-35-3.
This Service Bulletin is issued to provide the necessary instructions on how to perform
the swashplate duplex bearing installation inspection.

E. DESCRIPTION
This Service Bulletin provides the instructions on how to perform a visual inspection to
check if the swashplate duplex bearing P/N 109-0110-35-3 was installed correctly. The
duplex bearing is located inside the swashplate assembly and this inspection is
executed without the need for disassembly of the swashplate assembly.

F. APPROVAL
The technical content of this Service Bulletin is approved under the authority of DOA
nr. EASA.21.J.005. For helicopters registered under other Aviation Authorities, before
applying the Service Bulletin, applicable Aviation Authority approval must be checked
within Local Aviation Authority.

EASA states mandatory compliance with inspections, modifications or technical
directives and related time of compliance by means of relevant Airworthiness
Directives.
If an aircraft listed in the effectivity embodies a modification or repair not LH certified
and affecting the content of this Service Bulletin, it is responsibility of the
Owner/Operator to obtain a formal approval by Aviation Authority having jurisdiction on
the aircraft, for any adaptation necessary before incorporation of the present Service
Bulletin.

G. MANPOWER
To comply with this Service Bulletin, approximately four (4) MMH are deemed
necessary.
MMH are based on hands-on time and can change with helicopter configuration,
personnel and facilities available. MMH are not comprehensive of the overall hours
necessary to get access to work areas and to remove all the equipment that interferes
with the application of the prescribed instructions.

3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS

GENERAL NOTES
a) Place an identification tag on all components that
are re-usable, including the attaching hardware that
has been removed to gain access to the modification
area and adequately protect them until their later re-
use.

1. In accordance with AMP DM 19-A-00-20-00-00A-120A-A, prepare the helicopter on


ground for a safe maintenance. Disconnect the battery, all electrical power sources and/or
the external power supply.
2. In accordance with AMP DM 19-A-06-41-00-00A-010A-Aand with reference to Figures 1
thru 5, remove all external panels, internal panels and internal liners as required to gain
access to Main Rotor assy.
3. In accordance with applicable steps of AMP DM 19-A-62-31-09-00A-520A-A or
DM 19-A-62-31-09-00B-520A-A and with reference to Figure 1 Detail B, remove the
existing lock wire P/N MS20995C32 from the boot P/N 109-0134-13-103 or
P/N 109-0134-13-105.

NOTE
Refer to IPD DM 19-A-62-31-00-010-941A-A or
DM 19-A-62-31-00-020-941A-A and DM 19-A-62-31-
01-010-941A-A, as the photographs in the Figures are
not specific to this configuration.
4. With reference to Figure 2 Detail C and Detail D, lift the boot P/N 109-0134-13-103 or
P/N 109-0134-13-105 and the support boot ring and perform the duplex bearing inspection
as described in the following procedure:

NOTE
Perform the following step 4.1, only if it is not possible
to visually inspect the condition of bearings.
4.1 With reference to Figure 3 Detail H, using a spatula, remove the unwanted grease
from the seat of the duplex bearing.
4.2 With reference to Figure 2 Detail E, Figure 3 Detail F and Detail G and Figure 4,
using an inspection mirror and a light source, perform a visual inspection of the
duplex bearing observing from the top and from the bottom of the upper ring of
swashplate assy:

NOTE
The installation of the bearings is correct only if the black
seal line is visible on both sides (i.e. view looking from
above and from below).
4.2.1 With reference to Figure 4 Detail K, if the black seal line is present, the
bearings have been correctly installed: proceed with step 5;
4.2.2 With reference to Figure 4 Detail J, if the black seal line is NOT present
and the presence of balls is detected, the bearings have been incorrectly
installed: compile and send the Inspection Report Form in Figure 5 to
the following mail box and wait for furthers instructions:

5. In accordance with applicable steps of AMP DM 19-A-62-31-09-00A-720A-A or
DM 19-A-62-31-09-00B-720A-A and with reference to Figure 1, restore the support boot
ring P/N 109-0134-17-101 or P/N 109-0134-20-101 and the boot P/N 109-0134-13-103 or
P/N 109-0134-13-105 to their original position. Safety the boot to the outer ring by means
of the lockwire P/N MS20995C32.
6. In accordance with AMP DM 19-A-06-41-00-00A-010A-A, re-install all external panels,
internal panels and internal liners previously removed.
7. Return the helicopter to flight configuration and record for compliance with this Service
Bulletin on the helicopter logbook.
8. Gain access to My Communications section on Leonardo Customer Portal and compile
the “Service - Technical Bulletin Application”.
