(Ref. Fig. 1 / 56-11-11 -991-01500 )
(1) Clean the windshield housing and the retainers with 08BAA9Non Aqueous Cleaner-
General - -.
(2) Apply the 03FAB1Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - with the BRUSH
- NON METALLIC on the windshield-panel mounting surfaces, framework and
retainer.
(3) Make sure that the upper horizontal frame (specially the spotfacing areas at fastener
locations) that touches the 3 lips of the windshield silicone seal is flat.
If it is not flat, you must remove the used sealant first. To do this, clean the fastener
countersinks with 08BAA9Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - -.
Then, apply the 13GAB8Low density compound-- Low temperature curing Legacy 2
to get a correct flat surface.
This will prevent pressure leaks.

NOTE : You can use EC3524 B/A as an alternative to the low density compound.
The sealant cure time and the mixing ratio are given in the sealant-kit
manufacturer instructions.

WARNING : BE CAREFUL DURING THE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION OF THE
WINDSHIELD TO PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE.
MAKE SURE THAT:
- THERE ARE SUFFICIENT PERSONS FOR THE TASK.
- YOU DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SEAL OR THE
GLASS PLIES.
THE WINDSHIELD IS HEAVY.

CAUTION : DO NOT USE A SUCTION CUP TO HOLD THE INNER SURFACE

OF THE WINDSHIELD PANEL IF THE PANEL HAS A SOFT (SELF
HEALING) LINER (SUPPLIER SPS).THE SUCTION CUP WILL CAUSE
DAMAGE TO THE SOFT LINER.
- DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE SOFT LINER.
THE SOFT LINER IS A PART OF THE WINDSHIELD PANEL.

NOTE : The primers related to the sealants help to get a better bond of the sealants.
These primers are mandatory and it is necessary to apply them before the
related sealants.
(2) If the sealant cure time is not sufficient before the aircraft takeoff and if you use the
windshield fast curing system, do the procedure that follows:
CAUTION : BEFORE YOU APPLY THE TAPE, MAKE SURE THAT THE
SEALANT IS NOT TACKY. IF IT IS TACKY, THE TAPE CAN CAUSE
DAMAGE TO THE SEALANT.

CAUTION : WHEN YOU APPLY THE TAPE, MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE
NO BUBBLES. THIS WILL HELP TO PREVENT THE REMOVAL OF
THE TAPE DURING FLIGHT.

(a) Put a strip of 05RAB9Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - on the intersections.
(b) Do a visual check of the intersections after each flight.
(c) Remove the 05RAB9Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - after the sealant cure
time.

NOTE : During the flight, the temperatures are less than 10 deg.C and the
sealants do not dry. The flight hours are not included in the sealant cure
time.
(3) If the sealant cure time is not sufficient before the aircraft takeoff and if you use the
windshield fast curing system, do the procedure that follows:
(a) Installation of the WRCS CONTROL PANEL (RCWSP4Z01) on the aircraft.

4 Connect the temperature probes to the A320 WINDSCREEN EMITTER
KIT (RCWSEA320).
5 The temperature probes must be as near as possible to the sealant on the
windshield.
6 Energize the WRCS CONTROL PANEL (RCWSP4Z01).
7 Make sure that there is suction and a vacuum at the suction cups and the
probe.
8 On the WRCS CONTROL PANEL (RCWSP4Z01) , select the type of cycle
with the sealant number.
(b) Removal of the WRCS CONTROL PANEL (RCWSP4Z01) from the aircraft:
