name. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in

2. Greetings

Good Morning Class! Good morning Teacher

3. Classroom Management

Before you’re going to take your sits, please Yes Teacher

arrange your chairs.

Okay thank you, you may now take your

sits.

4. Checking of attendance
Yes Teacher
Are you all present today?

5. Review
Yes, Teacher!
Do you still remember your topic last
Friday?
Teacher, it is all about shapes.
What is it all about?
Very Good!
Teacher, Shapes are closed by an outline or
What is shapes all about ? boundary, which is made up of points, lines,
curves and so on.

Very Good!
Yes, Teacher
Do you still remember the four basic shapes
class ?
The three basic shapes are square, triangle,
So, what are they? and circle.

Very Good!

A. Development of activities

1. Motivation

Class, when on your way to school you must have

seen road signs like these right?

Yes, teacher!

Teacher, the signs have different shapes.

What did you notice about the shapes of the road
signs?

Very good!
Teacher, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond/
What shapes can you see in the picture? Rhombus, and circle

Excellent class!

2. Presentation

Class, the shapes that we identify is called the

Basic shapes of two- dimensional. No teacher!
Do you have any idea why they are called two -
dimensional?

If that is the case, we will now start our lesson

about the basic two - dimensional shapes for
you to understand. Yes teacher!

Please listen carefully because afterwards you

will have your activity. Is that clear?

3. Discussion

The basic two - dimensional shapes (2D)

Two Dimensional
A two dimensional (2D) shape is defined as a
flat figure or a shape that has two dimensions
( length and width). Two dimensional or 2D shapes
do not have any thickness. 2D figures can be
classified on the basis of the dimensions they
have.
Students are listening
What are the basic shapes of two - dimensional?

1. Circle
A circle is a 2D shape that is made up of a
curved line. Each point present on the curved line
is placed at an equal distance from its center.
Circle is completely round is shape.

2. Triangle
A triangle has three sides and three angles.
All the sides and angles can be different sizes.
There are different types of triangles. The triangle
shown is an equilateral in length and all three
angles are equal.

3.

Square
A square is closed, it is two dimensional
shape with 4 equal sides and 4 equal angles. A
square is a quadrilateral.

4. Rectangle
A rectangle is a 2D shape having 4 sides and 2
corners. Its two sides meet at right angles. The
opposite sides of a rectangle have the same
lengths and are parallel.

5.

Rhombus/ Diamond
A rhombus is a special type of a parallelogram
whose all sides are equal.
Its opposite sides are parallel and opposite angle
are equal.

4. Generalization

Did you understand our topic for today class? Yes Teacher

Very Good!

Class, suppose to be I am a basic shape. Can you Yes teacher

help me to identify my name ?

Teacher, they call you square

I have 4 equal sides.I have 4 corners.
Can you guess what they call me?

Very good!

My shape in this sign is this.Unlike my friend Teacher, a triangle

square.I have 3 sides. My sides may or may not
be the same length. Any body knows me?

Very good!
Teacher, a rectangle
This is my basic shape. Look at me, somehow, I
look like my friend square because I also have 4
corners and 4 sides. But unlike the square, my
sides are not all equal. Who I am?

Very good!
Teacher, a circle
This is my basic shape.I am also a shape.
Unlike my three friends I have no corners and I
am round. Does any body know me?

IV. Application:

If that’s the case I want you to do this activity,

please bring out your pencil.

Direction: Encircle the correct object The students will bring their pencil.

Key answer
V. Evaluation:

Class today we will give you a short quiz, please

bring out again your pencil and answer the
following.

A.
Direction :Name the following figures.
Key answer:

B. Identify the following shapes, write C for circle,

T for triangle, S for square, and R for rectangle.

VI.Assignment/ Agreement
