as per the manufacturer recommendations, In-case any material got damaged or has
defects, it shall be properly labelled & returned to the warehouse.
2. Provide Tool Box Talk prior to start of works to ensure that workers and staff involved
in the installation process are educated about the safety requirements for the job and
got the relevant approved drawings, technical submittals, installation procedures and
details
3. Prior to excavate the location for UPVC duct pipe at external area the authorized
person should be aware about the external services coordination routes, and will be
identified and marked for excavation. Provide the proper route markers based on the
cable/wire pulling to the acceptance of the Engineer and engraved "Electricity Cables",
or other suitable legend, with the appropriate voltage can be used in side this duct pipe
as per the site requirements.
1. Now use a square-blade shovel to cut a 2- to 3-inch-deep trench along the line where
you want to lay the uPVC duct pipe. The trench doesn't have to be perfectly straight, so
if you hit a rock or root, just go around it. You don't even need to remove any dirt from
the trench. Simply stomp the shovel into the ground and pull the handle back and forth
to open a deep V-shaped trench'
2. Lay ducts with configurations and reinforcing use plastic or other suitable intermediate
spacers to maintain the correct spacing. Maintain spacing between ducts of not less
than 40mm horizontally and vertically. Use manufacturer's couplings pulled tight.
3. Provide intermediate spacers at maximum 1500mm centers, and stagger in adjacent
layers. Use anchors, ties and trench jacks as require to secure the ducts.
4. Ducts shall not be filled with cables to more than 60% of their capacity. Nylon draw
cords shall always be left in ducts.
5. Suitable bends or elbows shall be placed on the bedding at appropriate distance.
6. UPVC duct work at Raft area: The entire pipe is installed with specified level as per the
specification. The pipes are firmly tied with the rebar to avoid misplacement during
pouring at raft area. After the installation of pipes and fittings (bends and elbows), in
order to avoid the bending of pipes, it should be protected with proper supports to the
rebar.

cable pulling through the trench. Set the cable into the trench and push it all the way
down to the bottom using a short, narrow piece of 1/2-inch-thick plywood. Don't use
the shovel or other tool; you might accidentally slice into the cable
8. Clean ducts thoroughly before laying. During construction securely cap ends of ducts
to prevent the entrance of foreign matter. Immediately after placing of first back-fill
material, pull through each duct a mandrel not less than 300mm long and of a diameter
of 6mm less than the internal diameter of the duct, followed by a stiff bristle brush to
remove all sand, earth and other foreign matter. Work the mandrel through the ducts
carefully to avoid disturbing or damaging ducts.
9. Ducts shall not be filled with cables to more than 60% of their capacity. Nylon draw
