revenue and handed over to emperor
d. Zamindars come under Jagirdars => Jagirdar could remove Zamindar
• Zamindari System
a. Land owners => collected tax from peasant on behalf of imperial court or
military purpose
b. Hereditary right over land and claim share in peasant's output
• Mansabdari System
a. Introduced by Akbar
b. Mansab (rank) awarded to individual fixes -

3. Number of armed retainers (tabinan) supposed to be maintained

c. Thus, mansabdari was a single service combining civil + military responsibilities
