In Lab Activities:
A presentation about Simulation, Modeling and Arena will be shown during the lecture
while creating the simulation. Simulation system will consist of the following parts:
• Use the “Create” module to create the entities which will enter to the system
• Double click on “Create 1” and change its name to “Create Parts”. Write “Application” as
entity type. Change the “Units” to “Hours”. Define the “Value” as “2”; this means that 1
Part will arrive to the system every 2 hours through an exponential distribution.

• Drag a “Process” module, in front of the “Create parts” and connect them with
using the “Connect” button.

• Drag 2 “Assign” modules for the true and false values of the decision

• Connect the Assign module “Count the accepted parts” to the dispose.
Name the dispose as shown below

• If false connect with the “process parts” module to re-process the bad parts.

• Adjust your run setup according to below and run your system.

• Click on “Idle” and click on the Empty Machine Picture (Drilling) as you can see in the
picture.
• Click on the double arrow- to-the-left : you defined the picture of the resource
when it is idle.
• Define the “Busy” picture of the resource as following the same way.(Use a working
picture of the drilling process )

• Click on and check “Seize Area” to show your machine on the simulation.
• Click “OK”. Click on where you want to see your machine. Place it on the process.
• Run your model.
