9. Objective(s) of Course :
Students are expected to
1. understand the rules of algebra and quadratic equation using the formula
2. understand the concept of matrix algebra and performance of
differentiation.
3. acquire of the scale factors to cope with the percentage changes.
10. Course Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, students are able to
1. describe the different of linear and non linear equation for quadratic (C1)
2. distinguish the notation and terminology of matrix algebra and performance
of differentiation. (P2)
3. describe the function by measuring the slope of a tangent. (A2)

Report writing, communication skill and teamwork.
12. Teaching-learning and assessment strategy:
Mixed method between teacher-centred and student-centred. For the assessment strategy it
is a continuous assessment.

13. Synopsis:
The objective of this course is to provide basic quantitative skills of higher arithmetic,
multi variable algebra, basic concepts of matrices, basic concepts of differentiation,
optimization, maxima and minima and basic concepts of integration to students, concepts
of probability and set theory.

14. Mode of Delivery:


Lectures, discussions and presentations.
15. Assessment Methods and Types:

Coursework : 60% (ex: Individual assignments, group assignments, project, Quiz, Written
/ Oral test, mid-term examination and others)

Examination (Final Examination 40%)
