I am thrilled to share the joy of completing a very valuable training program on Creative Industries, a topic that has captured my interest and fueled my curiosity in my readings. 🚀 The online learning program 'Supporting the Creative Economy', developed by the British Council and Culture Associates Oxford in collaboration with Culture Unleashed in Turkey, has concluded with significant gains. 🎓
In this program tailored for policy makers and creative sector professionals, I had the opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of various specialists and leaders in cultural and creative industries. Throughout the training, I gathered a plethora of documents and case studies for future exploration, which I am eager to share as I delve deeper into them. 📚
However, there are a few key points I cannot overlook:
- Understanding what we cannot define is crucial to grasping it. Therefore, it is vital to comprehend what the creative industry is and what it is not. It is worth noting the significant progress made by the UK in this field, utilizing a two-way approach to define creative positions and evaluating factors such as the level of creativity in tasks and the percentage of employees engaged in creative work. 🌟
- The distinction between creative industries and the broader creative economy is essential. While there may be differing views among countries, cultural industries typically encompass theatre, dance, and visual arts without profit motives, whereas creative industries include commercial enterprises like design, television, and fashion. 🎭📺👗
- I was particularly intrigued by the presence of incubation centers for creative industries in England and Scotland in various cases. Networking is crucial in this field, with individuals benefiting significantly from these structures, especially in knowledge sharing. The Creative Hubs Reports by the British Council shed light on this aspect. 🔍
- Cultural and creative formations often offer good job opportunities to young people and women, playing a significant role in fostering entrepreneurial potential. 💼🌟
- Creative industries, usually consisting of small businesses and holding the potential to transform local economies, should be supported by policy makers. 🌍💡
With the invaluable experience gained in creative economy and policy development, I am ready to push further in my future projects. 🌟
A big thank you to my instructors John Newbigin OBE, mark spilsbury, Dr. Alex Hope, and Daniar Amanaliev for their guidance and insights. 🙏
