Just managed to miss the heavy rain before leaping into the car, and before I drive off, I want to tell you about the new episode of Open to Criticism, which is now live wherever you get your podcasts. And this week we are talking film festivals for the simple reason that it came up a few times during season one when talking to more diverse critics, that it's really hard for a lot of them to get to the film festivals and that really matters. Because those first critic reviews of the films that are launched, all films are pretty much launched at film festivals. It's where they may or may not get picked up. And those big critic reviews really matter. They can make them or break a film and that basically determines whether or not you and I get to actually finally see it on the cinema screen. So it's a really interesting conversation and I'm really glad that I got to have it with Mrs. Mia Farrell, who is a PR and Film Festival. Strategist extraordinaire, she has worked at and for pretty much all of the Big East London Film Festival, Cannes, Sundance, Berlin, Tribeca. She knows her onions on all this and we had a really interesting conversation about it, so do check it out.
