The American Archive of Public Broadcasting, a collaboration between GBH and the Library of Congress, has been awarded the AMIA | Assn of Moving Image Archivists’ Ray Edmondson Advocacy Award! This honor recognizes the AAPB’s exceptional work in promoting public awareness, appreciation, and support of public media archives, and the dedicated team working to preserve and provide access to culturally significant public radio and television programs from stations across the country. For more than 70 years, public media has provided – and continues to provide – essential local journalism, children’s programming, and educational resources, and pushed the boundaries of what television can offer as a service to communities. "Molly of Denali," produced by GBH Kids, has been nominated for two Children's & Family Emmy Awards! The series is recognized in the Interactive Media and Writing for a Preschool Animated Series categories. "Molly of Denali" is the first nationally distributed children's program to feature Native American and Alaska Native lead characters. Over 90 Alaska Native and Indigenous people work on every aspect of "Molly of Denali," including an advisory group, producers, writers, voice actors, and musicians. "2000 METERS TO ANDRIIVKA," a new feature film on the war in Ukraine from FRONTLINE PBS, the award-winning PBS documentary series housed at GBH in Boston, and The Associated Press, will make its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this January in Park City, Utah. This is the second feature film from the Oscar®-winning team behind "20 DAYS IN MARIUPOL" — Ukrainian filmmaker and Pulitzer Prize-winning AP journalist Mstyslav Chernov, producer and editor Michelle Mizner and producer Raney Aronson-Rath. In 2000 METERS TO ANDRIIVKA, Chernov turns his lens towards Ukrainian soldiers — who they are, where they came from, and the impossible decisions they face in the trenches as they fight for every inch of land. “We are proud to work once again with The Associated Press and to offer both trustworthy reporting and a gripping, cinematic documentary.
