For those who are interested in exploring more, take a read of the this writeup and taxonomy from Dan & Sinclair (two of the best minds in enterprise AI) on how Agents will begin to reshape the fabric of every business. Honestly, there is a lot of hype & press about so called "agents" that are really just RAG posing as agents. #boringwhiningnerding Talking about AI's applicability at the center of the AI boom might not be the best idea: now, it’s less about asking, “why wouldn’t a non-AI solution work for you anymore?” and more about “how can we use AI in the most efficient way?” Given that model comparison approaches are already established through various metrics and benchmarks, it might seem that selecting the most appropriate one is more or less straightforward—choose and go. Yes and no. Suppose we skip over the initial question (“Do you really need AI?”—“Of course, we do really need to give it a try!”); the remaining questions will persist: - Do you have an operations or causal relationship diagram validated by QA stakeholders? - How does your quality management approach address and mitigate AI-related risks? - Do you trust AI to handle testing on its own? (If yes, then why? If no, then why?) Or, to put it briefly, - how will you prove that AI will address the necessary process/operational bottlenecks rather than just taking the easiest route to add AI on top? (And, the question of the day — how will your proof/test strategy differ between an "AI-on-top enhancement" and an "AI-native" versions of your product? ;-)). #dontbeaprincessbeavisionarylead #criticismisaprofession
