📈 🇩🇪 #EURO2024 generated an economic impact of over €7.4bn in Germany Nielsen Sports conducted a holistic study demonstrating the tournament’s positive impact in several areas: ⚽ 51 matches attended by 2.7 million spectators; 🎫 97% of international ticket holders said they wanted to visit Germany again; 🏠 85% of host city residents said they were proud of hosting EURO 2024; 🤝 73% said that EURO 2024 had made a positive contribution to the common good and cohesion in the host city. Would be interesting to see if we get some examples from academic papers on the host country effect. The economic effect seems to be quite huge and looking at the used multiplier, i come to see some difficulties in applying it that way…
