"Empowering Clinical Training: A Co-Production Journey with Parents 🌟👩👧👦" When delivering clinical training for our families, we prioritise the input and insights from various sources to make our training bespoke to each client, including information from the ICB or provider organisations. While we also actively seek information through conversations with clients, their families, or parents, we have found that the presence of parents during training is invaluable. At first, parents may find the prospect of attending training sessions a bit daunting. However, as they engage in the process, they quickly realise the significant impact they can have on tailoring the training to meet the specific needs of their child. 🌈👶Their firsthand experience and unique perspective add a layer of authenticity and relevance that enhances the training. In particular, we have had the privilege of working alongside several mothers who actively participate in the training sessions. They not only listen attentively but also contribute their views and wisdom to enrich the training content. This collaborative approach creates a unique dynamic – a co-production of training that fosters a stronger bond between us, the clinical professionals, and the parents. 💡🏥 Having mothers as co-trainers brings a wealth of benefits. It ensures that the training is not only clinically sound but also deeply rooted in the lived experiences and preferences of the families we serve. This dual perspective, combining the expertise of a clinical professional with the nurturing insights of a clinical mother, results in a comprehensive and personalised approach 🚀✨. Ultimately, this partnership guarantees that our carers receive the best possible combination of knowledge and understanding, creating a training experience that is both effective and empathetic. 🤝🌺 This wonderful Mum Louise, gave me permission to post her photo with me. hashtag #ClinicalTraining #ParentalInvolvement #HealthcareCollaboration #EmpatheticTraining #FamilyCenteredCare #TrainingInnovation #HealthcareInsights #CoProductionOfTraining #ParentalWisdom #skillsforcare

Such important knowledge and skills that we all should be committed to strengthening.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Specialist | Learning & Development Facilitator | Stakeholder Engagement Practitioner | Systems Thinker | Strategy & People Analytics Enthusiast
Did you know that cultural responsiveness isn't only for clinicians? Some organisations train their specialist and clinical teams in culturally responsive practice, but we often overlook intake and assessment/front of house teams. Navigating Australian systems can be challenging at the best of times, but is particularly difficult for people who have migrated to Australia. Often the process to get an appointment can be the most difficult. If you are in a non-clinical role across the Ovens Murray region, Albury or Wodonga we would love to have you join in our upcoming training session presented by the Brotherhood of St Lawrence. Sessions are free, well supported and delivered in a safe space for shared learning and growth. The link to register for the non-clinical stream is below :)

Healthy aging has not historically been central to the public health agenda but clearly, public health interventions are at least partly responsible for the longevity we are experiencing today. Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) is working to elevate healthy aging as a core public health function through its Age-Friendly Public Health Systems (AFPHS) movement, based on a framework of six tenets that are guiding public health efforts to improve older adult health and well-being. This web training session will introduce participants to AFPHS, including examples from one local and one state health department that have adopted and implemented APHFS principles.

How can we ensure that people with learning disabilities and autistic people are at the heart of decision-making about their care when they leave hospital? NHS England guidance points to two key personalised care approaches: co-production and personalised care and support planning. 🤝Co-production is where people are involved as equal partners in designing their support and achieving outcomes agreed through a personalised care and support plan. 👥Personalised care and support planning is a process based around 'better conversations' between the person and their health and social care practitioners, and is designed to ensure that the support they get is based around what matters to them. We have dedicated eLearning for both of these approaches, check them out in the links below. 👇
