It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here at TMSDI! Our team got together to celebrate the season earlier today for a little friendly competition with bowling and mini-golf at Hollywood Bowl UK in York. And then we recovered over a lovely festive afternoon tea at Mama Doreen's - the perfect way to get us all into the Christmas mood! In this video, filmed in November 2023 , I was at an event organised by VES, which is the Association of Quality Clubs in the Netherlands. I was delivering a presentation on staff retention but at the point in this clip I'm talking about what I call generational clubs. And the question I was asking was have we been around long enough now where there are different types of clubs that different generations are attracted to, as opposed to what's closest or what's cheapest? If you have any comments or questions please leave them below. #retentionguru #customerretention #fitnessbusiness

How often do you ponder the true essence of belonging? In a world where the boundaries of exclusivity and inclusivity often intersect, the desire to feel at home in this ever-evolving world resonates deeply. The recent developments at Garrick Club, underscore the evolving dynamics of exclusive memberships. The decision to move towards inclusivity after 193 years reflects broader societal shifts and the quest for meaningful belonging. At ONDA, our mission is to redefine clubs as more than physical spaces; they are sanctuaries where individuals driven by shared passions and missions come together. It's a vision of connection, exploration, and purpose, perfectly aligned with modern explorers seeking authentic and meaningful encounters. My journey with the concept of belonging began during the early ‘80s when I accompanied my grandfather to Circolo la Vela in Sicily and later discovered the Circolo della Conversazione, a 17th-century "Club of Conversation". These experiences revealed that private members’ clubs have their own identities and purpose, representing much more than mere spaces. Understanding the challenges and opportunities they face today is at the core of ONDA's ethos. The commitment to embody a paradigm shift led us to the launch of Clubs Love, offering advisory to support clubs navigate the intricate nuances of this industry, from conception to operation and beyond. Let’s build spaces that resonate with the heart and soul of every member, creating lasting connections and unforgettable experiences, together. #ONDAExperience #ClubsLove #FutureOfMembersClubs #Inclusivity https://lnkd.in/eh_jzc_H

The importance of linking with your team for extending your overall knowledge base cannot be understated. Social support, teamwork and clear communication are non-negotiables for reaching team goals. This was one of the many lessons I learnt from rowing an ocean. Speaking with Irelands school principals and deputy principals, on behalf of McNulty, at the NADP conference was a genuine pleasure. #mcnultyperformance #nadp #principals The Galmont Hotel & Spa, Galway Paul Crone

How are you measuring and building your service culture?
Details Matter: though I’m yet to actually step foot on the property of Golden Golf Club it’s clear it’s one of the most beautiful places in 🇨🇦 maybe even planet 🌎 While reflecting on the year, Graeme Kreiner told me their rounds were up and included that their STAFF rounds were up too. What a cool metric. I think it says a lot. Staff satisfaction and engagement are the obvious correlations, let alone spin off benefits like relations and rapport with members and guests. Graeme went on to say how different the course and experience is from the staff while playing. This will only improve the staff’s care for what they do everyday. Kudos Graeme and Golden GC! 👏 #LetStaffPlay #Engage #DetailsMatter #KeyMetrics #ClubCulture #Hospitality #ClubCommunity 59club Canada 59club Study Padraig Kelly
