The Instructional Design Company ’s Post

This quote perfectly captures the essence of engaging adult learners. They crave practical application, not just information dumps. But how do you translate those engaging classroom experiences into the digital world? This can be tricky with an eLearning course, but not impossible! Here's the secret sauce: problem-solving. Yes, even in an eLearning, you can ditch the boring lectures and turn learning into a discovery adventure. Here are two of my go-to strategies: 1. Show, Don't Tell: Instead of spoon-feeding information, let learners uncover it themselves. Use realistic scenarios and case studies to paint a picture. This way, they become active participants, not passive recipients. ️ 2. Interactive Knowledge Checks: Get creative with think drag-and-drop activities, matching exercises, or even scenario builders. My favorite tool for this? Articulate's scenario builder – it's a game-changer! Bonus Tip: Don't forget the power of real-world application, so you can also assign some post-training tasks for the learner to complete out in the real world once the course is over.  Intrigued by the world of eLearning design, but want to dive deeper? I've got a resource packed with what you need to know before creating eLearning courses specifically for adults.
