On December 3, we celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities! This year, the theme is "Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future." Persons with disabilities make up 16% of the global population, yet they rarely access leadership roles. They commonly face numerous barriers which prevent them from accessing these roles, such as discrimination, stigma, or exclusion from education and employment opportunities. Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities is essential to make meaningful progress in building a more inclusive and sustainable future! #InternationalDayOfPersonsWithDisabilities #DisabilityAwareness

There are preventable differences in the health of persons with disabilities compared to those without them. Further the concerns of persons with visible and invisible disabilities are often underattended to/addressed in clinical practice and in research. Being healthy is a privilege. With an equity lens, we can work together to remove barriers to optimal health, advocate for inclusion, and create tailored approaches to meet needs for everyone. #IDPD #AdvanceDisabilityInclusion #PromoteResearchAccessibility #DisabledResearchersVoicesMatter #ScientificWorkforceDiversity
