Yesterday we enrolled a new client who previously spent 7 months with a competitor and got 0 results. He said he did everything they asked of him 3x. If your #jobsearch isn’t going fast enough for you, this single action is the best thing you can do to speed it up. Talk to more people…………………. Like a lot more! There’s a difference between a slow-roll job search where you’re trying to land in the next 6-12 months and a job search where you’re trying to land in the next 3 months. It’s not 2017 anymore, and it’s definitely not 2021. While it is possible to land a job, even your ideal job, with the right strategies, I would be lying if I said the market isn’t a mess right now. For some functions and industries, it is more competitive, for others it feels more competitive >>> and for everything, scarcity and urgency is running highhhhhhhhhhh! But, many #jobseekers I speak to still have an idea in their mind that they can land a job in 3 months with 1-2 conversations a week, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, that’s just very unlikely to happen (especially if you're trying to make a pivot). Just try to do the math on that for a hot second. The math ain't mathing. If I were out there in these job search streets, trying to land a job in 3 months, I would be having a minimum 6 conversations a week and ideally something closer to 10-12 conversations a week.
