Job-hopping might seem like a shortcut to success, but it’s like trying to climb a ladder by skipping steps—you might get higher quickly, but you’re more likely to fall. 🚀 Sure, switching jobs every year might give you a quick salary boost or a fancy new title, but what happens when you need stability? Imagine trying to buy a house or land a leadership role, but your resume looks like a patchwork quilt of short stints. 🏡 Social media is full of posts celebrating fast career moves and easy money, but they often miss the bigger picture. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of a quick promotion or a higher paycheck, but what about the real value of deep learning, strong work ethics, and building long-term relationships? These are the things that make you resilient in the long run. Think of it like planting a tree—you don’t see the fruits overnight, but with time and care, it grows strong and bears fruit for years. 🌳 The younger generation, seeing these flashy success stories, might prioritize short-term wins over long-term growth, not realizing that the real power lies in stability and experience. Don’t be the person who jumps from job to job, chasing the next shiny thing, only to realize down the line that the fast lane wasn’t the smartest route after all. #CareerGrowth #StabilityOverSpeed #WorkEthics #ExperienceMatters #CareerAdvice #JobHoppingDangers

STOP UNDERESTIMATING THE JOB MARKET Let’s talk about the realities of today’s job market. It’s not just tough—it’s ruthless. The days of landing a new role in a few weeks are gone. For many, it’s taking 6-9+ months to find their next opportunity. Six to Nine. Long. Months. And why? It’s not because people aren’t talented. It’s because the market has changed. Companies are cautious, competition is fierce, money is costly, and the standards are higher than it has been in the last 25 years! This is not a time to sit back and “hope for the best.” It’s time to get proactive. It’s time to get strategic. ITS TIME TO HUSTLE 💥 Here’s what you need to do NOW: ► Update your resume and LinkedIn profile. They should scream your value in seconds. ►Network like your future depends on it. Because it does. Reach out to people, rekindle old connections, and build new ones. ► Be relentless. Don’t just apply—follow up, send messages, and stand out. The job market isn’t waiting for you to figure it out. You need to act now. And if you don’t know where to start, you’re not alone. But you don’t have to figure it out alone, either. Whether it’s career coaching, refining your strategy, or getting a professional recruiter on your side, the key is to take action today—not tomorrow. The clock is ticking. Let’s get to work. #upscaleyourcareer #gamedevjobs #fintechjobs #financejobs #hrjobs #marketingjobs #gettowork

WHAT SHOULD THE NEW LOWER THAN EXPECTED JOB REPORTS MEAN TO YOU AS A JOB SEEKER? ..........NOTHING........ Here are 2 numbers that can add value to your search: 1. Companies have turn over. Life happens, people quit, get laid off, family problems when parents get old, etc. Apply for a position where you fit. Wouldn't you like to be the first in line when an opening happens that isn't posted? 2. Companies always are looking for ways to increase revenue. Reach out to people here on linkedin who work where you want to work. Find a manager & say you want to connect with them because in your last job you increased revenue or lowered costs by XX percent by doing YY (don't fully describe it) and you want to know if they are interested in how that could help their company. Just two things that the crowd is not doing that will give you an advantage over your competition. #jobhunt #careerchange #future

ITS NOT ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE - Stop making emotional decisions when it comes to your CAREER. The number of professionals that are messing up what started off as good career progression in companies of choice and switching to companies that mess them up is huge. I know that one cannot predict what they will experience when they change jobs BUT too many professionals are coming to us to help them find jobs after they leave current jobs in pursuit of 'more money' without looking at other aspects of job including the all too important work environment. Most of these professionals realize they have made a move mistake within 2 months of joining what looked like 'greener pastures'. When you get job offers from what looks like a greener pasture opportunity please find a professional who will give you advice on whether the move makes sense or not. We are dealing with stressed professionals daily who make wrong, emotional decisions to move just for the sake of leaving a current employers and jump from a frying pan straight into the fire. Happy Friday and wishing you a restful weekend. #thinkbeforemoving #jobsearch #recruitment

🌟 Thinking of Changing Jobs? 🌟 Changing jobs for a higher salary can look like a quick win, but many regret moving purely for money. Consider the long-term impact on your career before making a move. Here are five things to consider beyond money: 🔝 Career Advancement: Will this move help get me closer to my career goals? 📈 Resume Value: Will this company profile add value to my resume? 💡 Skill Development: Will this role develop my skills for bigger roles in the future? 👨💼 Leadership Quality: Does the hiring manager have a good reputation for leading people and building talent? 🏢 Company Culture: Will I be happy working here? No amount of money will make you happy if most of the answers to the above are a "No." Think wisely before your next move, as that becomes the base for your future moves. Money, shouldn't be the only reason why you leave a job. Wait...don't come for me just yet! I'll get to the point right away😄. So, the other day in a conversation with a friend about our career development goals and current pursuits, we somehow delved into talking about the current high talent churn rate across several industries within really short time frames. It was neither about redundancy-based exits, nor moving from temp / contract roles, but voluntary permanent resignations. There indeed are certain life circumstances that could cause a person to make the decision to leave a job e.g. health regression, threatening economic challenges, family concerns, etc. But when the decision is largely based on a quest for the next "green field", perhaps taking some time to evaluate other non-monetary factors within your current job may provide you with a good reason to hang on. • Job fulfilment 😊 • Opportunity for growth 🪴 • High engagement 🏃♀️ • Your voice matters 🔊 • Recognition🏅 • A sense of belonging 🤝 • Continuous learning 📖 • Growth-oriented challenges 💪 • A great team ❤ ...and the list goes on. Some organisations are worth weathering the storm with because of the high value, intangible benefits they offer. So, maybe remember this post of mine on the days when so many job ads are tugging at your attention from all corners and you are about to make that job change decision. 🌹🌹🌹 #Career #JobChange

Here’s the truth about changing careers… If you make a switch without a clear direction, you risk ending up right where you started—and think about how much time, energy, and opportunity you might have lost along the way. So how can you ensure that your next move is a thoughtful, intentional step forward? ❌ Don’t jump at a job just because it has a flashier title. ✅ Instead, take time to reflect on what truly matters to you—what are your non-negotiables, and how do they align with your core values? ❌ Don’t let salary be your only deciding factor. ✅ Instead, connect with people in the company to get a real sense of the work environment. Does the culture fit with who you are and what you want? ❌ Don’t limit yourself to roles in the same industry if you're no longer passionate about that path. ✅ Instead, focus on your strengths and past accomplishments. Look at how you can leverage them as transferrable skills to break into a field you’re genuinely excited about. Career changes don’t have to feel like leaps into the unknown. With the right preparation and self-awareness, you can take a step toward something that’s not just new—but truly fulfilling. #CareerSwitch #CareerGrowth #JobSearch #CoreValues #IntentionalLiving

I'm so glad people are talking about this. As someone who is incredibly career-oriented, having 4 kids felt like a serious threat to my career. Despite remaining current in my field, continuously learning, and staying involved in education, mentoring, coaching and speaking throughout the years, when I re-entered the more "official" professional landscape of education and academia, there were lots of questions about what I had done in those so-called "gap" years. The interesting thing about this is that my husband would say that his career was relatively uninterrupted or disturbed by helping raise our young kids. Normalizing "gaps" might mean acknowledging ways that we can stay active in learning, developing and practicing in a field, even if we aren't in an active role. It might also mean recognizing ways we might have gained other skills, insights or abilities in the years we were not officially employed in a field. There are many important and relevant ways that "gap years" might allow an employee greater growth and advancement in the future, and to overlook this could mean missing out on someone who has a valuable contribution to make to a team. <3
