Women make important contributions in business and in society at large. We are determined to lift women up. I am proud to work at Vattenfall. Why? Because we are one of the drivers of the energy transition. This is also a female success story. End of last year, our CEO, Anna Borg was included in the TIME Magazine’s list of the world’s 100 most influential actors against climate change. In our highest level of management, we have 6 women and 5 men, leading the way. Our women are trailblazers, but we don’t just stop there… We have officially committed ourselves to achieving equal leadership, opportunities and pay by 2030 because we signed Equal by 30. Female manager numbers have since increased, and systemic change is happening. It is on all of us to make this a reality. You want to find out more? I strongly believe that job sharing can play an important role in various challenges we face as a society: from battling the shortage of skilled workers to reaching more diversity, equity and inclusion. Offering more opportunities to all the talents out there, that for various reasons can't or don't want to work in a full time role for their whole life is a no brainer for me. Do we have the perfect concept yet? No, but we are trying out ways to implement this, learning as we go and improving our concept step by step. #TheBeatingHeartofEnergy #DiversityEquityInclusion #Jobsharing #Recruiting
Uniper wins the wom.e.n Energy Award for our job sharing initiative! 🥳 Job sharing at Uniper enables two people to share a complex leadership role whilst increasing their flexibility through working part time. This model allows the job sharers to balance their personal and professional lives. As a company, we benefit from better decisions for example, because of different perspectives and skills working in tandem. Job sharing has been implemented across several teams at Uniper already, with very positive feedback and results so far. The wom.e.n Energy Award is awarded by wom.e.n, an independent network and communications platform committed to strengthening women in the energy industry. The award honours initiatives and companies that are particularly committed to equality. Curious about what we do? I 💙💙💙 it! Jobsharing in leadership positions clearly is a huge enrichment of our working culture. It openes up so many new possibilities and perspectives 💡. Not only for the individual, or the jobsharing tandem, but also for #Uniper as a company. Clearly there are still challenges 🧗♀️ to seamlessly embed the jobsharing model in our corporate processes and last not least also the IT. Like managing identities 🪪, defining workflows ⛓️, establishing DoAs 🤑, or just simple things like automatically adding two names into the box 📦 of an OrgChart. To my mind something standard tools like #SAP, #SuccessFactors, #ServiceNow, #M365 still need to further catch up with reality. 👍 ❓ Do you 🫵 offer jobsharing for leadership roles at your company? What are your experiences? Any good practice to share? #thebeatingheartofenergy

💡Ever wondered why, despite our advancements in clean energy, we still fall short of achieving true diversity, and what it could mean for our industry if we did? I found a few compelling answers during an in-depth conversation a couple of weeks ago at the 2024 RE+ Northeast Conference in Boston. It centered on an issue close to my heart: the critical need for a more inclusive approach to workforce development among clean energy companies. The protagonist of this dialogue was Barry Reaves, Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice (DEI/J), and Workforce Development at the North East Clean Energy Council (NECEC). Barry is at the forefront of creating equitable pathways in clean energy, focused on embracing a wide spectrum of diversity, including ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and income status. His work across the Northeast region is not just about strategizing but taking actionable steps towards real inclusivity. This discussion served as a potent reminder of the pivotal role organizational leaders have in championing diversity and inclusion from the top down, shed light on the challenges a policy-driven approach can introduce, and underscored the importance of holistic thinking in attracting diverse talent. Just as data has shown the impact female leadership has in any industry, so it has revealed the positive impact of a diverse team. Barry highlighted something that really resonates for me: in order to pave a path for real inclusivity, you start by 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 with those overlooked communities. ...the answer is in the How, and many of us are striving towards better understanding exactly that. It's time, especially those in positions of influence, to cultivate an environment of inclusivity and equity in this business - not just clean energy, all energy. Whether it’s through reevaluating our hiring practices or engaging more deeply with communities we’ve yet to fully embrace, every step towards inclusivity is a step towards unleashing the true potential of this #EnergyTransition ☀️ 💪 Let me know your thoughts on this 👇 How have YOU seen diversity magnify the results of your team and organization? #networking #energy #innovation #sustainability #JEDI

When we founded 𝐅𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐥, our mission was clear - to empower women to transform the oil and gas industry from the inside out. We wanted to create a tight-knit community of female leaders who could support one another, have crucial conversations, and challenge the status quo. Three years ago, we launched our first Pursuing Greatness event - a day dedicated to celebrating women who refuse to conform to outdated traditions or male-dominated mindsets. It was a smash success, but more importantly, it sparked a movement. Attendees left feeling energized, driven, and connected. They returned to their jobs ready to advocate for other women, determined to amplify female voices at decision-making tables. The ripple effect was real. Policies started to change at some of our attendees’ companies. New female mentoring initiatives launched. Talented women got promoted into influential roles. The Pursuing Greatness wave was transforming our industry right before our eyes. This is why we host this event year after year. One day is not enough to overhaul long-standing systems and culture. We need to harness that momentum and continue nudging our entire industry forward. The Pursuing Greatness movement is far from over - there is still work to be done. So join us this 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 5𝐭𝐡 as we drive even more positive change in 2024! Become part of our circle of forward-thinking leaders. Help write the next chapter of the oil and gas industry, where women are CEOs, executives, site managers, and valued technical experts. Let’s elevate each other and create lasting impact. Let’s go Intersolar 2024! I can’t quite believe that I won’t get to Munich until late Wednesday and will miss all the set up and day one! My FOMO is in overdrive and I really am sad to miss any of it, BUT teenage birthdays and being there for them through major exams is more important to me 🤷♀️ When you have a superstar team around you, these decisions on work/life priorities are easier to make - but making these decisions or “asking permission” shouldn’t be stressful should it? I try to lead by example, always have and if I don’t prioritise the important things in my own life then what example does that set? That it’s not ok to care about something more than work? No way. As my family would tell you, I love the solar industry - to a level the teenagers call weird 😂. But do I love it (and you fabulous lot) more than them? - nope, sorry, don’t be ridiculous, see you Thursday 😉 I couldn’t be more grateful though for Mark Gamble and Nathan Childs who alongside other members of the Solis Europe team help keep the control freak inside me in check. This really is the best week of the year and as someone described it to me - it’s like Christmas in June, there is so much excitement. Like the show itself isn’t enough, I am delighted to be representing the WiSEu Network again. It’s one year since our very first get together and here we are, bigger, better and more diverse. Everything I said above about leading by example is personified in this network with so many inspirational personalities from across the industry involved and leading by example. I look forward to a jam packed couple of days of conversation, debates and laughs with both existing and new industry colleagues and friends. 📍June 19-21: Find me and the team at Solis in Hall B3 🍻😎 📍June 20: Meetup and workshop with WiSEu Network.
