By identifying areas of growth and need, we can implement practices that not only solve workforce challenges but also enhance the recruitment and retention of Black professionals. We are so marginally disproportionately displaced 😢 This month, let's commit to being active participants in mentorship and sponsorship, recognizing that these actions are not just beneficial but necessary for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion. ☎️Empowering Individuals and Organizations☎️ - For Individuals: Take the initiative to connect, guide, and advocate for Black Water Professionals, sharing experiences, and creating opportunities for skill development. - For Organizations: Develop structured mentorship programs and sponsorship initiatives, incorporate diversity into leadership development, and recognize success stories to build a more inclusive workplace. Mentorship programs such as the Transformative Water Leadership Academy (TWLA), CWEA Mentoring Program, WEF Mentorship Program, AWWA Scholarship Program, and NEWEA YP Mentoring Program provide avenues for connecting with leaders, sharing experiences, and fostering lifelong relationships within the water industry.
