As a vegetarian, red meat doesn't factor into my everyday life, but I certainly can appreciate a good bull - the SGX Bull Charge Race, that is! For over a decade, our good friends over at SGX Group have journeyed with us to impact the lives of those in need, from children with developmental needs, persons with disabilities, families from lower-income households, and seniors across health stages. From being cheer to seniors with dementia, to bringing futsal to the school compound of students with disabilities, my team and I are heartened to see the continued contributions of SGX and its partners for their belief and passion to build a more inclusive nation with us. An equitable society can only be built with empathy and many helping hands, and if you'd like to see how you can make a difference for a more sustainable world, join us, and give voice to the AWWA Ltd cause! #SGXCares #SGXBullCharge #partnerships

Did you know that speech language therapists (SLTs) don't work in silos? 👥 For Pamela Koh, an SLT at AWWA's Early Intervention Centre @ Fernvale Link, her "partner in crime" is Occupational Therapist Tsz Lui! Together, they support children with developmental needs and their families, helping them grow in confidence and independence. Working with Lui has also sharpened Pamela's understanding of her clients' sensory needs, allowing her to tailor more effective interventions and better advocate for her clients. Happy SLT Week to all the incredible SLTs out there! 💙 Join one of Singapore's largest therapy hubs and make a difference in the community today: https://lnkd.in/gNZhHQ7c.

We're living in the 21st century, but 12th century poet, Avvaiyar, has evergreen words, which continue to be relevant today: Simply put, her poem speaks of how the merits of a king are weighed against those who are learned, and the latter will always triumph. A king is held in esteem only in his own country, but the learned are held in high esteem wherever they may go. 💡 With that, I'm immensely proud of AWWA Ltd for being awarded the SkillsFuture SG Singapore Employer Award (Gold) 2024, in recognition of our efforts to upskill our agile multi-professional team, and build a teaching and learning culture at work. From creating our very first internal learning platform, to launching our first annual innovation drive, we remain committed to building a future-ready workforce in pursuit of service excellence so that we can continue to shape fulfilling lives for those in need. 🙌 We dedicate this award to our incredible team, past and present, who embody our spirit of learning, innovation and teaching! By day, Rosemarie is a dedicated paediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) at AWWA Early Intervention Centre. By night, she’s twirling gracefully across the ballroom floor! 💃✨ For Rosemarie, being an OT is more than just therapy—it’s about building trust and fostering a strong support network, much like the partnership she experiences on the dance floor. She shares that working hand-in-hand with caregivers, preschool partners, and her multidisciplinary team makes every step in her journey deeply rewarding. In the words of Boromir, "One does not simply walk into... a sea of purple without believing in inclusion". While I'm evidently not that good with quotes, my passion for building a more compassionate society that embraces diversity is probably one of my better attributes, and I'm thrilled to have been a part of the Purple Parade movement last Saturday. AWWA Ltd was well represented by four contingents made up of over 300 clients and their networks of support, volunteers, and corporate partners like BlackRock and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) At some point, my wallet felt lighter, but my heart felt full when I purchased some specially designed AWWA School merchandise on sale, because I mean, no one can resist a sales pitch from our adorable student and budding artist, Ziqri! And speaking of strength at every age, it was a pleasure to have started the day by celebrating the Agency for Integrated Care (Singapore) Silver Generation Office's 10th anniversary. I'm particularly excited about the developments of Active Ageing Centres which were shared, as they will continue to play a pivotal role in ensuring that seniors age well, and in place in the community. Movements aren't always immediately successful. As Hahrie Han aptly explains, organisers have to adopt mobilisation to keep participants engaged, while mobilisers have to work with organisers to ensure things are done. It's been so heartening to see how SGO has successfully mobilised seniors effectively, and how the Purple Parade has continued to grow in significance over the years. The different shades of purple on display always remind that our society is made stronger because of the diversity, quirks, and dreams, every individual brings with them.
