Taking a peaceful moment today to think about those who have sadly been killed and seriously injured on our roads for World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. It’s important to remember and acknowledge the suffering of affected victims, families and communities, as well as the dedicated emergency crews, police and medical professionals, who deal daily with the traumatic aftermath of road crashes. Remember. Support. Act. 🕯️ #WDoR2024

Today, on the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, we reflect on the lives impacted by road crashes and the urgency of creating safer transportation systems. For those of us working in system safety, this day underscores our responsibility to design technologies that can significantly reduce accidents and save lives. Autonomy has the potential to transform road safety, but this progress must be guided by a commitment to safety standards and ethical-transparent development. Let’s aim to build safer and smarter roads for the future. #RoadSafety #VisionZero #AutonomousDriving #WDoR2024
Today (Sunday 17 November 2024) we observe the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. This is a meaningful day to honour those who have lost their lives or been severely injured in road crashes, and to stand alongside the families, friends, and communities profoundly affected by these tragedies. It is also an opportunity to acknowledge the essential role of emergency responders - police, paramedics, and fire and rescue teams - who are often first on the scene, providing life-saving support and compassion to victims and families in their most critical moments. #WDoR2024

Many people are unaware that a routine activity like driving a motor vehicle leads to more fatalities than both murder and terrorism combined. This is especially tragic, as the majority of road deaths and injuries can be prevented by obeying traffic laws and acting more responsibly on the roads. #RoadVictimMonth

Public works is often considered “the silent arm of public safety” … usually without fanfare. Public works professionals are often the first on scene and the last to leave the scenes of disasters—no matter the peril. While police, fire, and EMS are often the three most recognized first responders, public works is also often silently there—providing vital support to emergency response partners, helping protect essential services, and restoring those services following an emergency. 💪🚧 🌟 #PublicWorksHeroes #EssentialSupport #SilentHeroes

Causeway have joined twelve other providers of modern slavery support to call on the new incoming Government to renew the UK's commitment to supporting survivors of modern slavery. This 'Manifesto For The First 100 Days' sets out five practical and deliverable recommendations from modern slavery experts to be implemented within the first 100 days of a new government, to help significantly improve the safety of victims of modern slavery and human trafficking and limit costly and unproductive vetting procedures. All the contributors are providers of support to victims under the Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract. This includes The Salvation Army and 12 other subcontractors, of which Causeway is one. Together we form the collective of professionals who interact and engage with all potential adult victims in the National Referral Mechanism. Since 2011, we have collectively supported a total of 21,824 recovering survivors of modern slavery.
