Causeway have joined twelve other providers of modern slavery support to call on the new incoming Government to renew the UK's commitment to supporting survivors of modern slavery. This 'Manifesto For The First 100 Days' sets out five practical and deliverable recommendations from modern slavery experts to be implemented within the first 100 days of a new government, to help significantly improve the safety of victims of modern slavery and human trafficking and limit costly and unproductive vetting procedures. All the contributors are providers of support to victims under the Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract. This includes The Salvation Army and 12 other subcontractors, of which Causeway is one. Together we form the collective of professionals who interact and engage with all potential adult victims in the National Referral Mechanism. Since 2011, we have collectively supported a total of 21,824 recovering survivors of modern slavery. From February 1 through May 10, 2024, the Human Trafficking Training Center has provided 1,868 officers from around the country with skills based human trafficking training. We see officers put this training to use immediately by identifying victims and arresting traffickers. Last week was no different as 6 human trafficking victims were identified in various locations around the country by officers attending our training, including another victim in Ohio and two victims in North Dakota. A suspect was also arrested in North Dakota. These two victims identified in North Dakota were the 99th and 100th victims identified in 2024 by officers that attended our training. Think about that for a minute. We did not change any laws, do any Gala's, go to a ton of meetings, sit on a ton of panels, or ask for donations, we just provided really good skills-based training to the police. We are on pace to train 6,000 officers this year and if this pace continues these officers will identify 400 plus victims of trafficking and arrest many traffickers. What would happen if all police had proper training. How about the police in your city, county, or state?
