I recently had an incredibly enlightening experience at the SSETS training, where I delved deep into the world of money! money!! money!!! As an academician, I've come to realize the crucial role that money plays in enabling effective teaching, conducting research, and sustaining a balanced life. This training truly opened my eyes to the art of resource mobilization through what I call the 5Ps approach: People: Building a diverse team of 4 members, with one dedicated to sourcing research grants online and meticulously documenting grant details for strategic planning. Problems: Identifying key societal issues to tackle through research projects. Partnerships: Collaborating with individuals from different backgrounds, disciplines, and countries, including French-speaking nations. Preparation: Ensuring all necessary documents for grant applications are meticulously prepared in advance. Practice and Politics: Navigating the process of applying for and securing research grants effectively. Before this program, I was unaware of the structured approach required for successful resource mobilization. However, post-training, I now have a clear understanding of the steps needed to enhance my grant acquisition efforts. I am excited to implement these newfound strategies in my academic pursuits and look forward to making a more significant impact through effective resource management. I am grateful to our sponsors Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Lancaster University, British Council, National Universities Commission (NUC), Taraba State University and our University Lead Professor Obadiah Elkanah Sambo and our team of coaches Dr. Akanimo Odon, Dr Viola Akhigbe, Professor Kirk T. Semple, Prof. Spencer Nwangwu, Dr Nellie Kangwa and Dr. ERIFETA Georgina. #SSETS #BeforeAndAfterWithSSETS #ResourceMobilization #AcademicSuccess #ResearchGrants #ContinuousLearning

The #DfE #ESFA has published its ESFA funded adult skills fund: funding rates and formula 2024 to 2025. https://lnkd.in/et4tS9wd These are based on the new rates for starts from 1 August 2024, announced in January 2023: https://lnkd.in/eYs_pj7x The funding cap of £4,400, before weightings, for each learner each year that applies to this year's #AEB has been removed. That said, there is no separate earnings boost. This applied to 2022 to 2023 and 2023 to 2024 only. This is because the new rates are generally higher than the old matrix rates. Procured contract aims are still funded on the basis of 20% of funding is held back and only earned on achievement of the learning aim. However, this 20% element will now be earned on completion for grant-funded providers for new starts from 1 August 2024. You can find more details from paragraph 86. Work placement aims are under review, with details of these to be provided in the second version of this document, to follow. Professional Assessment

CBSE has taken a significant step towards revolutionizing education by introducing 50% competency-focused questions in 10th and 12th board exams! This move aligns perfectly with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes competency-based learning. At our organization Sri Aurobindo Society Rupantar , we've been advocating for Competency-Based Learning (CBL) and Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) for a while now. I believe that CBL focuses on developing specific skills and competencies in students, rather than just imparting knowledge. CBA, on the other hand, assesses students' mastery of these competencies, providing a more accurate picture of their learning. By introducing competency-focused questions, CBSE is taking a significant step towards shifting the focus from rote learning to meaningful learning. This will not only enhance student learning outcomes but also prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century. #CompetencyBasedLearning #CompetencyBasedAssessment #NEP2020 #CBSE #EducationReform #SriAurobindo #HolisticEducation
