Based in Seattle, USA and Bengaluru, India, Archana has been exploring future technologies within culture for over two decades. In 2018, she received the British Council in India’s digital arts grant to develop Dara.network, a video-first platform enabling cultural and entrepreneurial communities to discover and connect with each other. Evan Eghan’s passion is shaping the future for Ghana’s creatives, using film to promote youth enterprise. 🌟 He started his career as an actor in #Ghana and #Nigeria, and recently became a 2023-24 Chevening Scholar and Student Union President at Edinburgh Napier University. Evan founded the Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF), which connects emerging filmmakers in Ghana and beyond. With support from our Arts Collaboration Grant, he launched a screenwriters’ workshop that trained 22 underrepresented writers in the UK and Ghana, leading to the production of two feature films and opening new doors for the participants. His next move? 'Unquestionably, the most significant festival of its kind in the world, dedicated to the English Bard, in a non-Anglophone country.’ These are the words of Michel Vais, in the Canadian magazine Le Jeu, following the first International Shakespeare Festival Craiova in Romania, 30 years ago.
