🌍 Fostering a Sustainability Mindset in Hospitality I've just completed two impactful courses issued by EarthCheck: "Sustainability 101" and "Sustainability Management". I highly encourage everyone in hospitality and beyond to take these courses! They offer invaluable insights into sustainability fundamentals (do you know what a sustainability management system is?) and practical tools to drive positive change in any organization (like crafting your first sustainability policy!). The journey begins with developing an ecological worldview: being aware of global environmental issues and understanding best practices to address them. For hospitality organizations, this knowledge is crucial to: 1️⃣ Defining your scope and commitments to sustainability. 2️⃣ Measuring performance - because if you don’t measure, you can’t manage. 3️⃣ Identifying and addressing risks linked to operations. In our recent survey with hospitality executives, 65% of respondents identified regulatory compliance as the main driver for their organisation’s sustainability strategy. I am thrilled to share that I have recently earned "the Sustainability Foundations: Core Concepts" certificate. This program provided a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles and concepts that underpin sustainability efforts across sectors. Through this course, I gained a deeper understanding of topics such as environmental stewardship, social responsibility, sustainable business practices, and systems thinking.
