Client News: WDIV's Erika Erickson is doing what no other Detroit TV reporter has done before. When we told her about Sleep Out, without batting an eye she said, "I'll sleep out!" She's in a cardboard box in a sleeping bag on concrete in 37 degrees right now... and will be waking up in less than 3 hours to be back on TV live at 5 and 6 a.m. Her dedication is helping to raise awareness about the fight to end youth homelessness along with 100+ other people who are sleeping out. Her story led the 11pm news tonight on WDIV Local 4 News/ClickOnDetroit + coverage from Fox 2 News, CBS Detroit, and all day long on WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids. Love this- wish more journalists were as dedicated to their stories ❤️😇
A worthy cause. I slept out for the homeless twice over the years with Covenant House Shelter in Detroit and it was a very emotional experience. puts you in perspective of what it is like. There is no one reason why people are homeless. Thanks Robin for sharing and hi-lighting this worthy cause!
Love this! Putting yourself in the position of others offers far greater perspective and understanding. Way to go Robin Schwartz 🙌
Thanks for the story.
Thank you Erica and WDIV for increasing awareness.
