What do the most-played PC games of August 2024 have in common? 🤔 They're not from 2024. The newest entry is already 4 years old. 😲 According to the Newzoo report, the top 10 most-played PC games in August: 1. Roblox - Released in 2006 2. Minecraft - Released in 2009 3. Fortnite - Released in 2017 4. The Sims 4 - Released in 2014 5. CS2 GO - Released in 2012 (I know, CS2 is from 2023 but c'mon) 6. Call of Duty Warzone - Released in 2020 (Yes, MW3 is from 2023, I know) 7. League of Legends - Released in 2009 8. Valorant - Released in 2020 9. GTA V - Released in 2013 10. Rocket League - Released in 2015 I understand the appeal of those titles. Heck, I played most of those games myself (especially Warzone during lockdown! Still remember the heart pounding when it was just us vs. the other team. Absolute fire!🔥) But whenever I see lists like that, I wonder how the hell a game that comes out today can even compete with those well-established behemoths with millions of active users, dedicated communities, and a constant influx of content. There is still room for breakthrough hits (I'm looking at you, Wukong 🐒), but at the same time, it feels like many games will be doomed to live in the shadows of those giants. What do you think about it? ----------- Newzoo report: https://lnkd.in/d_jRwiEm
Anyway, hard to believe Red Dead Redemption 2 is 6 years old 🥲 Regarding Bioshock Infinite or the whole new Tomb Raider' trilogy...time flies 🥲🥲
