Health Systems Training, Harris Manchester College, Oxford I had the privilege of participating in the Oxford Academy 2024 training on "Managing Innovation: Financing Health Systems and Digital Health" training for World Health Leaders. The course held at the magnificent Harris Manchester College , University of Oxford , included participants from Africa for the first time. The conference was a rich learning experience, with discussions centered around topics like sustainable finance for healthcare systems, and alternative funding models with case studies from Singapore and the Netherlands. One of the highlights was participating in a role-playing exercise as a member of an HTA(Health Technology Assessment)decision committee, which gave me a firsthand understanding of the complexities involved in making informed decisions about new technologies. Additionally, learning about the progress and challenges of integrated care in England and the innovative e-health solutions implemented in Estonia provided valuable insights into how we might address similar issues back home. Beyond the academic content, I had the opportunity to connect with brilliant minds from around the world, pushing the boundaries in healthcare, sharing experiences, forging new partnerships, and making new friends; all in a calm and aesthetic environment. I'm excited to bring back the knowledge and insights gained to my work in the cancer space and to strengthen our systems. Thank you to the organizers, and the Roche Africa team for including us in this experience, guiding me through all the stages, and being a part of our success story. Thank you Pablo, Maturin, Doris, Dr Hameed, Patricia, Mariad…… 💕 #drzsb #oxfordacademy2024 #healthcareinnovation #sustainablefinancing #healthtech Maturin Tchoumi Ladi Hameed Pedro Delgado Doris Duke Hajer Felfel Ghodhbane Rachel Le Sueur

HEALTH CAMPUS DC LIMBURG (BELGIUM) Health Campus Limburg DC is in the process of establishing an Open Innovation Center for Healthcare within their forthcoming main building, scheduled for inauguration by the end of 2026. This center will serve as a distinctive collaborative space for academic research, businesses, and the healthcare sector to collectively address prominent societal challenges, including the implications of ageing populations, the increasing demand for long-term and complex care, and workforce shortages. At the core of the innovation center lies the THINK3 Center for System and Process Innovation in Healthcare at Hasselt University. In addition, the campus will provide office space for healthcare network organizations, enabling their deeper involvement in pioneering projects and research endeavors. The proximity of BioVille, the health and care business incubator, further fortifies the campus's ties with the industry, facilitating synergistic partnerships among academia, businesses, and healthcare providers. Furthermore, the 40-meter-high main building will house an auditorium, meeting rooms, and a bar on the uppermost floors, fostering a unique environment for facilitating collaboration and connection among stakeholders. This development forms an integral part of the master plan for the Limburg Diepenbeek Campus, with the Health Campus serving as a pivotal component. The master plan has been meticulously crafted by the Regional Development Agency of Belgian Limburg (POM Limburg), garnering support from the Belgian Province of Limburg, the "Limburg Sterk Merk" Foundation, and the European Regional Development Fund. #scienceparks #innovation #areasofinnovation #heath Roeland Buckinx Paul Jansen Jacques van Dinteren

Some great feedback from Season 2 of The Health Innovation Expedition at University of Lincoln. Thanks to the Uni for putting this together! And thanks to everyone who took part in this year's Health Innovation Expedition! It's you all who make the course. It was brilliant meeting with everyone from both Season 1 and Season 2 and hearing about what you've already implemented into clinical practice as well as innovation projects you're now taking forward! Massive impact we hope to capture 😎 We're keen to speak to organisations who want to do things differently, upskill their staff, give their students a competitive edge, or help with getting people thinking about ways to translate their research into new products and services. Despite the economic state of Britain and the planet, the only way out of it is through innovation... Well, a good one at least! #HCIC2024 #innovation #health #socialcare #NHS #training #experience #clinicalunmetneed

We invite #scholars from all academic levels and disciplines to contribute their research. The submission deadline for paper abstracts is Friday, 19th January 2024. Delighted to be presenting as part of a very exciting programme of speakers at Healthy City Design International Congress 2024! I’ll be sharing my work on “Compassionate Places” – a new transdisciplinary model for a healthy, human-connected design and placemaking. This aims to reframe how places are seen and shaped - by responding to our human needs, human experience and prioritising the quality of places. Ie How our surroundings impact people's lives. By drawing from different disciplines and areas, like neuroscience, environmental psychology, sociology and public health, the approach and method aims to embed knowledge and research on how places affect people into spatial design. And generally change how places are being made, so they can better support people and communities to flourish and thrive. #HealthyCities #HolisticApproaches #CompassionatePlaces #PlaceQuality #ConsciousDesign #MentalHealth #NeuroArchitecture #Togetherness #Inclusivity #Equity #SpatialJustice #Innovation #Collaboration #DesignforChange #Planning #Placemaking
