🔬 On 20 March 2024, the European Commission released a progress report on the New European Innovation Agenda (NEIA), nearly two years after its launch.🚀    📌 Notably, the New European Innovation Agenda is currently progressing at full speed, with 13 out of its 25 actions now completed.    ⚡Overall, the initiative is paving the way for a competitive clean energy transition and reinforcing leadership in key technologies such as batteries, hydrogen, photovoltaics, and wind energy, alongside numerous policy initiatives, including the Green Deal Industrial Plan. 💡 Finally, the European Commission also underscores the importance of artificial intelligence (AI), and announced the development of an assessment of the impact of AI on research and innovation.     🔍 Read EERA’s full analysis here: https://lnkd.in/ewG8ehVc

🔋 Interesting insights from Jon Ferris on BESS deployments in the Nordics! We've quickly shifted from seeing batteries as dangerous and expensive to recognizing their growing attractiveness. The debate has moved from "Are batteries coming?" to "How fast are they coming?" In Finland, there's a surge in utility-scale projects. Meanwhile, in Sweden and Germany, "behind the meter" projects next to consumption are significant. At Innovestor, we believe behind-the-meter BESS projects will rapidly grow in Finland, driven by rising flexibility needs, high prices, falling BESS costs, and increasingly sophisticated optimization of flexible assets. FEDECOM-project will present some of its finding on Friday 14th March in the Bridge Regulation Working Group Action 2: Peer-to-peer and energy sharing meeting.   The topic covered in the Action 2 Regulation Working Group is: What is the role of peer-to-peer and energy sharing in the overall market design? What are the barriers, and how are they an enabler for the uptake of energy communities?
