One heck of a lesson yesterday…. First is all started with being blessed to baptize a fellow brother yesterday morning!! Then it’s time to chop some wood. In the third swing of busting some smaller pieces, the handle snapped and completely riveted up my hand. Did it hurt? Like you wouldn’t believe. But guess what I did? I got a wedge and sledgehammer and kept going. Sometimes you’ll break a handle or two. Sometimes it won’t cut like you want it to. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, But keep chopping away. Here are some tips from our conversation:  • Leverage Your Existing Connections: People tend to work with those they know, like, and trust. Building connections with people from your past can create future opportunities.   • Make Small, Consistent Efforts: Not every business development effort needs to be a 2-hour lunch or a 3-hour dinner. It can be as simple as an introduction, sharing an article, or sharing information. • Use Time-Blocking: When you don’t have a lot of time, use the time-blocking method to park time for business development.  • Set Goals: Set attainable goals that you can follow through on. For example, say your goal is to have two lunches per month. You’ll end up having 24 meetings that you wouldn’t have if you didn’t set that goal.
