Speed = distance/time. 🕊️ If success is a function of velocity, then stress is on the wheels. With stress comes wear and tear. Conversely, can we reduce speed to increase longevity & productivity? If not, how do we find the balance? Navigating through stressful situations needs more open conversations, compassion and yet it also demands objectivity. Finding the right balance is not a function of prescriptive measures but evolution of thought, maturity and patience. Here's 1 tip for you to help with your mental wellness today. See life as a gift --- and not a right. Have you ever paused to truly see life as a gift? When you do, you realize that everything you have received is humbling, compelling you to acknowledge a power beyond yourself. This realization brings forth a sense of gratitude, where words flow like a bubbling stream. Your whole body loosens. Your mind lightens. In contrast, feeling entitled with unreasonable expectations leads to stress and disappointment. At that point, life feels like something owed to you, not a gift. Are you struggling to see the beauty of life, to view it as a gift? Are you frustrated that life isn’t unfolding the way you want? Join me in this episode as we explore how to see life as a gift—not an inheritance. I am not well. I’ve been struggling these past several months to balance my kids and their unique needs with the demands of a new house and of course…the rest of life. Most days I cry and at least 5 times a day I stop, put my hand on my heart and take big deep breaths to release the big feelings. On top of that, I’m sleep-deprived (from waking up with my thoughts in the middle of the night) and I live with a constant knot in my chest. Life as a working mom, right now, is just harder than it has ever been for me. I know that this is a season and that even tomorrow my kids might be in a completely different place and need me a little less, but right now I’m focused on the long-term care of my mental health. I know (and teach) a lot of tools to help care for one’s mind and heart, but in this season of life, it seems I need something a little different. In today’s episode, I’m sharing with you the seven strategies I’m using to take care of my long-term mental health. I will also share a bit more of my story and the challenges of life today because… hard seasons are normal. Struggling to hold it all together is something every human experiences. The more transparent we all can be with our mental health, the more normal the challenges of being a working mom become and the faster we move to get help. So…in full transparency and vulnerability….take a listen to this week’s episode: https://buff.ly/3DSrGjK #mentalhealth #workingmompodcast #truth #MentalHealthAwareness #WorkingMomStruggles #ParentingChallenges #SelfCareForMoms #LifeBalance #TransparentParenting
