Momentum is proud to share that over the past year, 208 children, ages 18 months to 3 years, participated in our Leaps & Bounds and other early intervention programs. These programs combined education, therapy, and play to support their growth and development. We’re thrilled to celebrate every milestone they’ve achieved! #Momentum4All #80YearsStrong #Momentum80for80

If you know someone with a baby, chances are you know someone who at one point or another used or tried to use Early Intervention for proactive support in their child's development. Having more clinicians in this field is vital to getting new parents and families the support they need as early as possible, however clinicians can literally earn more money than they do in E.I. by working just about anywhere else - doing anything else. Every other industry and private organization has aligned increases with negotiations and changing circumstances - except Early Intervention. Do your small part to speak up for the tired families, educators, and clinicians fighting this fight.

Therapies can be incredibly enjoyable, and Jada's experience with a cone megaphone is a perfect example! This simple yet engaging activity involves speaking into the wide end of a cone, which amplifies the voice. It's a delightful way for children to communicate and play pretend, allowing them to experience the fun of hearing their voices echo. This activity entertains and encourages children to use their voices, boosting their confidence in speaking and interacting. #ECIP #ChildDevelopment

Adopting the CARE practice model has been a game changer for me—not just in how I approach my work, but in how I navigate relationships and interactions in every aspect of life. CARE’s trauma-informed principles provide a structured framework for supporting others with empathy, understanding, and intention. It’s a reminder that being trauma-informed isn’t just a professional skill—it’s a mindset that can transform how we connect with people everywhere.
Have you heard of the CARE model? At Challenge Community Services, we're proud to use the CARE model as a foundation for how we support children, young people, and their families. CARE, which stands for Childhood and Residential Experiences, is an evidence-based, trauma-informed model developed by Residential Child Care Project, Cornell University. The six principles of CARE guide us in our approach to supporting children and young people, and help us to deliver on our commitment to their wellbeing and growth. To learn more about how we embed the principles of CARE into out day-to-day practices, visit our website via the link 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gpBQrVD6 #ChallengeCommunityServices #FosterCare #CARE

July is National Make a Difference to Children Month, where we remember the importance of guiding, helping, and supporting children near and far as they grow and navigate life's many challenges. CEC supports and partners with the Partnership for Resilience, an organization that aims to transform and integrate education, healthcare, and community organizations to create a trauma-informed, family-focused system that measurably improves academic, health, and social outcomes for children impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Together, we seek to mitigate the impact of childhood trauma and build resiliency by coordinating care and services between healthcare and education organizations, increasing family and community wellness and access to preventative care, and identifying results-based practices that could inform a policy agenda around these issues.
