𝐂𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 - 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨 ProcurePM Project Management are very pleased to have supported Lower Eyre Council during project feasibility, delivery planning and procurement for the Coffin Bay Business Precinct Regeneration Project in readiness for their grant submission, and would like to wish Council every success in securing support from the Australian Government for this regionally significant project. The Coffin Bay Business Precinct project is an exciting initiative that will enable the sustainable growth of Coffin Bay’s aquaculture industry whilst also improving community safety and delivering on new key elements as part of the Project, including road and marine upgrades, and waste management infrastructure. Key elements of this multifaceted Project include the following: - Upgrading the existing boat ramp facility, - Expansion of the existing business precinct to enable growth, - Upgrades to the road transport infrastructure, - Repurposing the current waste transfer station land, - Establishment of a new waste transfer station at a new location, - Upgrade/renewal of the community wastewater management system, - Amenity upgrades to the business precinct, - Development of a Precinct Sustainability Strategy, and - Investigate opportunities for a research/education hub. Planning and detailed design will be undertaken in a partnership environment involving key partners, local community, stakeholders, First Nations and industry to support the development of a place with purpose that supports regional growth and prosperity, and promotes Coffin Bay’s reputable brand. ProcurePM worked closely with Councils’ team to scope the Project, and design and execute an innovative procurement approach to identify a delivery partner that will allow completion of both planning and detailed design phases for the project, and with a view to being ‘construction ready’ in early 2026. A successful grant application will mean the planning and detailed design for the project can kick-off immediately, having already undertaken a comprehensive tender process to select a suitably skilled and experienced design team (WSP in Australia). We are very pleased to have submitted a comprehensive application to the Federal Government’s Regional Precincts & Partnerships Program for the Coffin Bay Business Precinct Regeneration project.   The team have spent the last 18 months carrying out preliminary investigations, stakeholder engagement and industry and community consultation to prepare an impactful proposal that aims to address key challenges and constraints in Coffin Bay associated with land availability, critical town infrastructure and traffic (vehicle + vessel) movements. The project will enable the growth of the iconic Coffin Bay oyster industry and provide community, visitor and environmental benefits while simultaneously achieving one third of all actions identified in the Coffin Bay Master Plan. The Minns and Albanese governments continue to partner with local governments across New South Wales to get high-priority road and community infrastructure off the ground. This includes partnering with Singleton Council to replace Brunners Bridge, thanks to $6.5 million from the Restart NSW Fixing Country Roads Program and $700,000 from the Albanese Government’s Bridges Renewal Program. It is fantastic to see all levels of government working together to make a project like this possible. Gresford Road is an essential route for residents and the agricultural suppliers of the region. This bridge replacement will allow larger trucks that can carry more freight per trip to safely cross the bridge. John Bosworth - New Government, New Towns and New Approaches It is exciting to see that the Government has wasted no time in appointing a panel tasked with identifying suitable sites for major new residential development of circa 10,000 homes apiece. As the article states the aim is to find the right places to build these new communities. Whilst land use planning issues will undoubtedly be the most important factors in identifying these sites another important consideration will be the ability of local authorities to deliver them. The Government has already recognised the lack of resources as being a hinderance to the effective performance of local planning authorities and there should be no underestimating the amount of local authority resources needed to deliver a new settlement be it planning, highways, biodiversity, legal or other officers. If CPO is needed to unlock the site's potential then that is an entirely different level of engagement. Will the Task Force take account of local authority skills and resources in deciding where are the right places to build and will it have the power to recommend additional resources where they will be needed? One further suggestion - that a national delivery body be established with staff of all disciplines who can be seconded to local authorities where additional delivery resources or skills are needed to enable these new communities to happen. #commercialrealestate #commercialproperty #planning #planninglaw #taskforce #building https://lnkd.in/eV5KuxzC

On our June 4th Municipality of North Cowichan special council meeting we adopted the Master Transportation Plan following a three-year process that included several rounds of public engagement. The Master Transportation Plan provides immediate and long-term direction for improving our transportation system in North Cowichan and builds on the recently adopted Official Community Plan that recognizes the strong linkage between land use and transportation. The Master Transportation Plan also recognizes our commitment to addressing climate change through reduced transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions and identifies a wide range of future projects that include investments in new infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit. Other projects will include intersection upgrades, new road connections, and new policies and bylaws. This route offers a strategic solution to improve regional connectivity and reduce pressure on the coastal highway. The Bruce Highway's challenges As the Bruce Highway struggles with congestion and maintenance, the need for an alternative route is clear. Increasing traffic underscores the urgency for a more reliable option. The promise of the KDR The KDR provides significant benefits: ▪️ Less congestion: Shifting traffic to the KDR can ease delays on the Bruce Highway. ▪️ Improved safety: Better road conditions and reduced traffic make KDR safer for all. ▪️ Economic growth: Upgrading the KDR can boost inland economies, tourism, and job creation. ▪️ Environmental impact: A balanced traffic distribution could reduce emissions. Completing the KDR Sealing the final 11km of the KDR is vital to link Cairns to Melbourne, shortening the journey by 800km and offering logistical advantages. Upgrading key crossings like Bundock and Einsleigh is also crucial for safe travel. A unified effort The success of the KDR depends on cooperation among all levels of government, industry, and communities. @niki Niki Flute, Acting Mayor of Flinders Shire Council, stated, “The KDR inland alternative is the solution to the ongoing Bruce Highway argument. It’s a critical and smart step forward for Queensland," highlighting its importance for Queensland's future.
